Banning from Europe seems to be everyone's go to. It was always meant to be a last resort. They will probably waggle a disapproving finger at the French clubs for a few seasons, then maybe a transfer ban, then ban them from Europe if they persist, which if they had a transfer ban you have to wonder how they've managed that.

Then, in a few years, there will be a huge queue of potential bannees, with even more logistical problems.

And us with our enormous, unfathomable new sponsorhip deal, saying 'bring it on'.

There's a lot of beverages being drunk in the BRIC countries. Surely they need some sky blue tint to set themselves apart from me another.

I'm still wondering how Platini will handle secondary sponsorship of our New York team if we have it high enough to ensure a profit every season.

How would that work exactly? Surely it's a different legal entity?

It wouldn't work from Platini's point of view - I'm no expert on balance sheets etc but I would assume everything would get lumped into a 'profit' figure which his cronies would be able to see on Man City's books while having no right to break it down any further since it would be from an overseas source out of their control. I don't see how they could apply 'fair market value' to it if they can't itemise it.

Balancing books :

Last Year loss 100 MM
Bought 30MM + 17MM+20MM+25MM
Sold 17MM + 10MM
Wages saved overall 30MM
Extra TV income 15MM
Overall Loss 100MM

Effectively we might be a slightly better off than last season, thats what I feel.

What say about the guesstimates ?

Doesn't work like that. The transfer fees on purchases are spread evenly over the contract life and on sales will be set first against the remainder of the purchase fee that has yet to be used up in annual amortisation. New contracts also allow remaining amortisation to be spread further so Aguero's extension, and others, will help in that regard.

Fernandinho £30M £100k/week
Navas £14.7M £80k/week
Jovetic £23.4M £70k/week
Negrado £16.4M £48k/week

Tevez £12M £196k/week
Balotelli £18M £170k/week
Bridge released £90k/week
Santa Cruz released £90k/week
Maicon £3M £48k/week
Kolo released £120k/week

Income: £33M
Expenditure: £84.5M
Nett: £-51.5M

Wages Added: £298k/week
Wages Removed: £714k/week
Wages Saved: £416k/week (£21.63M/year)

I'd say that's a bit better than slightly.

Sadly I had to take it from googling, I did have a site that had them on there a while ago but I have misplaced the link.

Apparently Atletico offered him around 40k/w, so I can see the basic figure being slightly higher, but not by much.
