While there isn't going to be a meltdown yet, there is a key indicator here.... discipline has been blown already. Prior to slur slipping of his chair non of this would have got to a public row conducted in the press, for all sorts of reasons including the press protecting them.
This change will get noticed and reported on in itself, something that will effect the culture that had built up under bacon.
Moyes will lose this battle and the world will perceive that an important foundation brick has been heavily smashed at.
That means Moyes has more ground to make up than he had when he started the job just a couple of weeks ago. And Bacon will already be trying to stop his agitation.... tick tock, tick tock.
