I hope the Fiorentina president says we have a 0.5% chance of signing JoJo, might get it done quicker.

We had a 1% chance until Txiki picked up the phone and upped the bid by about 5M euros. 5 minutes later we had 100% chance.

Not sure about this 'JoJo' business, reminds me too much of Jo!

I am so exhausted with this, I just want someone to sign something, even if it's a new cat for the training ground :)

Joe Hart, Joe Corrigan, Joey Barton, Joe Mercer, all Manchester City legends.

Are you okay with Pellegrini as The Count then? Because if we have to call him the Engineer, then Jovetic is JoJo.

GET IN!

@londonblue2: Are you fucking kidding? You'd better be, this striker(53 in 102 appearances btw) is my fucking birthday present. The last one City gave me was Geovanni, it was very disappointing.

It was kinda tongue in cheek as I dont really know enough about him and Jesus to have an informed opinion. However I can pretty much guarentee that given the choice, the majority of the forum would prefer two of Isco, Xavi, Alonso, Fabregas, iniesta, Thiago, Pedro, Mata, Villa and possibly Torres and Carzorla over Navas and Negredo.

Maybe because like you and me, the majority of the forum get all our info about Spanish football from the Spanish national team, Barcelona, Real Madrid, the premiership, and recent big transfer deals. They don't actually know much.

Duh. But how much would every one of those, bar Villa, cost? The Spanish National starting 11 plus best U-21 players dont come cheap and their clubs arent exactly looking to sell.

You're probably right.

I have noticed that a lot of people tend to change their views on certain players depending on how closely we're linked with them though. Scott Sinclair was a prime example of this, dear oh dear.

Geoff Hurst spoke to Sir Alf Ramsey after being selected for the World Cup squad in 1966, he was in astonishment as why he was picked when there were a good 3 or 4 players he believed himself were better centre forwards than himself. Sir Alf told him, you are the first choice for what I need in this squad.

It's not always about having the absolute best player available, some times it's about having the square peg for the square hole.

Yep. Negredo is already a lot better player than he was 6 months ago. Same goes for Jovetic while Isco went from nobody to superstar who would win us the league and then back to decent promising youngster who isn't quite as good as Silva

The idea of Navas and Negredo linking up for us is quite exciting for me. Navas created the most chances in La Liga last season and Negredo scored 25 in 36 for what is a second tier club.

Throw Silva, Yaya, Aguero, Dzeko, Nasri and hopefully Jovetic into the mix and there's plenty to look forward to.

Decent point this.

londonblue was right though, 90% of the board would choose other Spaniards ahead of Negredo and Navas but they might not be necessarily exactly what we need.

We certainly haven't bought duds though, Navas and Negredo are two outstanding players, who in another lesser generation would be starting for Spain. The crop they have now is just utterly ridiculous.

I'm not saying it's not exciting. It is, and to be honest I'd prefer a star to be made at City rather than bought in. But those two are not nearly the most exciting Spanish names out there. Just being real.

I could put on the blue tints and declare that Navas and Negredo are world class and will win us the league but i'm just not sure.

This is very true, although 28 million is a lot to pay for a square peg.

Happy birthday by the way.
