Are you sure it wasn't Eden-burg, I was wondering where the hell that was, then it dawned and I pissed myself laughing.

Sometimes when I'm bored I just get a map of Britain out and point at place names for my wife to say out loud. Warsesstershyer is my favourite.

That's the one! Miles off.

We're moving back to England in a few weeks so she's got to pick up the language sharpish.

countries like should not be hosting the world cup in the first place. fair enough they want to spread it around more, but the heat is ridiculous, people will be passing out and dying, not to mention the health of the players.

also how are fans supposed to enjoy themselves in these strict countries? can't even drink.

fifa are corrupt cunts.

Once, I almost wet myself on skiing holiday because the bloody 'bar tender' didn't understand the question 'excuse me, please can you tell me where the toilet is... (Blank expression) the loo? The bathroom? The bog? The khazy?'

In the end I just said where the fuck do you go for a shit round here (just in time).

Oh and it is adaptOr you feckin tossers, end of rant!

Actually no, why the fuck did the toll booth collector on Golden Gate Bridge think I might know his cousin who lives Holborn, when I told him (for ease) that I came from London !

It's actually pronounced like "cutter" so that doesn't work.

Cheers

Is that how they pronounce it in the Peace Corps?

And Aluminium.

Looks like Greg Dwyer is bowing to pressure from FIFA, but it will mean virtually every players contracts will have to be re-written....

But they won't. Some will be in summer and some will be in winter. Won't matter to TV viewers, but will matter to millions of fans who go to games everywhere. But I suppose they don't pay FIFA

Not for:
Armenia
Norway
Iceland
Rep. Ireland
Russia (recently begun transition to 'normal' season schedule, so by 2022 it will).
Sweden

I am all for the above mentioned plus whoever else it does not effect having a world cup and we will get on with our own thing. How do you think sepp and sky/itv/bbc will feel about that? Fucking shite I expect.

That's Europe alone (and an incomplete list, I believe - didn't even bother looking at Faroes, etc.): a Northern Hemisphere continent.

Add the USA, almost all of Oceania and South East Asia, quite a hefty portion of South America, and the fact that many sub-Saharan African countries have a summer break, and you start to see that it's a pretty even split as to whether a summer or winter World Cup would inconvenience more leagues. But I suppose a winter one will inconvenience wealthy leagues in white countries more, so we should all kick up a fuss...
