Born in 65, went to 1st game in 69. I've enjoyed success in both Black & White and colour. :-)

I started supporting City when we signed Robinho. I was debating whether or not to support Chelsea but then City beat them to the Robinho signing so I just chose them. I debated whether or not to support someone else after he left but then we won the FA Cup so I stuck around. I was going to quit last season but we've still got Kolarov. As soon as he goes I'll go and support Liverpool or a big club like that.

Born in 85 I was brought up as a blue. My old man didn't actively go to matches but he made sure I knew my allegiance.

When I was still in primary/junior school, must've been 94 or 95 methinks, Stockport county provided the school with a load of free tickets, and at the time county were doing ok, respectively.

I took some tickets home and was excited to be going to my first ever game. However my dad was working and couldn't take me, so he suggested I ring my uncle and ask him. So I rang him, and he said he could do if I really wanted to go, or instead I could go along with him to watch city..... Immediately I accepted.

What a first game, Sheffield united and we are losin lg 0-2 at half time, ended up winning the game 3-2 and I've never looked back since. Season ticket from first year of coms because of a bloody 2 year waiting list! And go to plenty of away games to boot! Happy times!

What are you on about Stupot? You are clearly a child of the Swales era. Eejit.

I've supported City for as long as I can remember, Dad had a season ticket from when I was in nappies.....but my first memory of going to a City game is the 2-2 against Liverpool in 1996 (i think)......and I think one of my worst experiences as a City fan.

Been there ever since though so I must love them

It will always stick with me for the wrong reasons
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Born into the pain in '74, which I thought was unfortunate until recently!

There were times I thought I could never forgive my parents. Many examples, but 1-8 at Boro most recently.

Mid eighties so Swales. Though my first visit was in the away end at the Huddersfield 10 - 1 game. Obviously as I came from Huddersfield I was taken by my dad a massive town fan. Upon doing the conga for the eigth or ninth time something just clicked and I was a convert. Luckily for me two older lads in my village were City mad and started to take me season in season out.

Albeit no physical connection to Manchester my uncle has traced thd family tree and we do actually originate from there.

started "following" in 98/99 season. I have to qualify that by saying there was no real way to actively follow an english team for me at that time, let alone from the old 2nd div. My reason for starting was that many of my acquaintances were United supporters and I had to go find "the other team" from manchester, as to be their direct rival. It helped that all the people that followed united that I knew were cunts, so easy to root against and wish horrible things on ... amazing how supporters come to be like the teams they support eh? I was able to get some news bits and as the internet became more and more accessible you could get updates fairly regularly.

then I started playing football manager, which was just Championship manager back then ... before the big split, I suppose! I was city and only city every time, obviously, lots of seasons under my belt there and still going now.

then in like 03/04 we picked up reyna, so that was cool for me ... I never really thought about an american playing for city before that. Though we did go on to have beasley (no comment) for a minute.

that's me I suppose, great ride so far.

None so far!

I was about 1966, so I voted 1964 as it seems a bit of a flawed poll :-)

From birth in 1968. Dad was an avid blue and hated the rags as much as Mike Doyle. He took me to my first game when I was 3. Platt Lane against Leeds in the corner and it kicked off. Been ever since and now I hate the rags as much as Mike Doyle did and so do my kids. I went for 1971.

Been a blue since 1985. Much to the annoyance of my rag loving dad. Fond memories of going with my mates and freezing in the kippax week in week out. Now I have a family of 6 all blue - happy days!

My sister and brother in law took me to my first game in 1958. My favourite player soon became David Shawcross, although, he rarely played as Ken Barnes was the captain and first choice right-half. I remember City signing Clive Colbridge soon after and he was a big signing at the time.

Happy days!

Never been to the theatre of screams, and I tend to come over all Burt like at just the thought. Have always happily maintained I wouldn't go there even if it was a freebie to watch City.

I'm a year older than you but my circumstances are exactly the same. Tail end of the Swales era with Peter Reid being the man in charge when I started going in earnest.
