I just don't rate Shrek, definitely not world class and definitely one of England's worse players no matter how fit he is or his position. He's been overrated and living off hype ever since he went playing in the swamp. I can't fathom how a centre forward of his apparent calibre cannot for the life of him beat one defender let alone two. His usual routine is pass cos he knows he's shit and will fail or bottle it and sky it earlier, that's if he hasn't already lost the ball.

If I'd bang Kolarov out, I'd make burgers and chips out of his ugly mug + transplant.

It's football fans isn't it? Some hype players up beyond belief, others like yourself make out they can't tie their laces.

Fact is he's just a good footballer. Not world class, not shite, just good.

i could be wrong but i dont see United as having a shot in hell of prying him away from Bayern.

The same papers who have been trying to sell Dzeko all summer because of an apparent lack of fit with Pellegrini's system.

Best forward I've seen v City since Henry. His movement on the counter attack is fantastic. Very few players have caused us the problems he has.

In front of Chelsea's midfield they will be a whole different proposition. Players like him are the essence of the rags & they have few left. The only similar type I can think of is Suarez, but that's a non starter. RVP is a quality player but he's not a talisman like Rooney & he is a sicknote.

I'm with Ted on this....Rooney blows hot and cold but he invariably steps it up for United when it matters. Against us for example. If United lose him they lose a hell of a lot in attack. He's a proper Fergie raised player. Has that same win at all costs attitude.

Don't you just hate it when you get a 404!

In short, Shrek will work wonders under a new regime and will bring the energy and vigour that once took him to the top of the Rag tree. I think he'd even ditch Taggarts pessimism for the England team and turn up in a fit state.

A charged up Rooney can be a threat, we have first hand experience of that.

He has pot luck against city, most big games he is an invisible man. For apparently their best player he struggles to get 20 goals a season and he has been their main man for years.

What? He will do very well at Chelsea. I do not like him one bit but he has undoubted quality. Would improve any team in the world. Rather he stayed where is rather than linking up with Maureen, that would be bad news for us.

He hasn't always been the main striker & has dragged Utd through the shit periods & out the other side more times than any player has done for any club.

When we hammered them 6-1 Ferguson responded by putting Rooney in midfield to make them more solid.

A few years ago when they were struggling at centre forward, he went away & praciced heading the ball, then scored about 8 headers at centre forward.

Ferguson has taken the piss out of him moving him out wide etc but he still had a better season than Aguero.

His value to the rags has been immense. If Negredo or Jovetic contribute the same between them over the coming seasons, we will win the lot.

Seems simple to me. scum need the money for wooney but only one club is interested and isnt offering what they expect. they dont want to be seen to be forcing him out and are hoping that he forfeits his loyalty payments by submitting a written (ghostwritten probably) transfer request. unfortunately for scum the list of clubs after him is just the one. and the wrong one at that. ooh what a quandry..what a predicament.
The real issue is their midfield and how its going to get bossed by us, chelse, and spurs as well as in europe if they dont pull their fingers out. my money says fellaini or cabaye..poss both...but it wont be enough...they are weak in that area...fabregas isnt really the answer...their midfield is basically just there to shift the ball from one wing to another so the wingers take turns pinging it into the box. its how they score so many goals. pure percentage football. but deny their midfield time and space to do that and they are fucked. the lesser sides in the prem need to fucking wake up to this fact.

They were pissing on us in the cup semi, but Mancini realised that setting Nige & Barry on Scholes fucked them, he got sent off & we won the cup. From then on we have totally dominated them in midfield apart from occasions where Bob has changed it.

Moyes will probably pack 5 grafters in there to try & stop us. It worked with Everton but we were less inventive then than we will be.

Fellaini would be a dangerous player for rags, but his stats for 'interceptions' etc are misleading as many times it's actually a header or 2nd ball after a header. If players run at him, he's just another plodder like Carrick.

Ssn claiming rags have rejected an improved bid of 30 million from Chelsea.I reckon another transfer request from Shrek won't take long.

Bit of a random one but some reports claiming we are going to buy Debuchy from Newcastle!

Would be a right odd one if true... cover for both RB/LB perhaps??

Rooney is a brilliant player. Give over with this shite that he's "not that good". Have you fucking amnesia?

Rooney at one point a few years back was briefly looking like a player of the Ronaldo/Messi level, luckily for us that form was fleeting and he has progressively become increasingly stale at United.

...Should he move to Chelsea though he could well and truly be re-awakened as a player under Mourinho... Good news for England... bad news for our title challenge! It would weaken the rags more than anyone however, which is always a good thing, I remember seeing a stat last year that the scums win percentage with Rooney playing jumps about 20% compared to when he doesn't play.

No matter what they (and the media) try to tell you, it would be a huge loss if he leaves the swamp.

All I know is I would much rather face a United side without him in it that's for sure.Just a bit of a concern if he does join Chelsea as he will be a really good addition to the team. It's funny how Rags have conveniently decided the "white pele"(their words) is all of a sudden washed up when he wants out of the club.If they are being honest they all know it's going to be a major blow for the club.Rvp will be the only player they have that could be deemed a world class player and he turns 30 tomorrow, they will really need a major signing and quick if Shrek does jump ship.

chelsea have apparently put in a new bid for Rooney today and Rooney has not travelled with the squad for the friendly tomorrow. He is apparently staying behind for treatment on an injured shoulder.
