its brilliant, the sun headline, rooney outcast as players rebel against him, so far 2 fake injuries and no signings for the scum and the normally pro rag bias media going to town with it, imo ferguson is to blame for the whole saga.

Lol. How long did they have at the top 22 years? I want 22 years of financial meltdown, 28 managers and 4 owners in that time. I swear Fergie became like Kaiser Sosei, the players thought he was god like.

I would really love a desperation signing from them too. Is Kevin Phillips still playing?

Who says Fergie is regretting it ... he said it deliberately knowing Moyes' history with him and left Rooney unsettled in there ... I still think he's set Moyes up to fail so A) He remains their god over there and keeps looking good when new manager can't get any positive headlines and B) Might even be plotting a half season comeback to get them back-on-track so to say.

Sergio Aguero has offered to buy and pay five new players for his former side Independiente but the offer has been ignored, according to his dad.

The Manchester City striker is said to have promised to play the part of Sheik Mansour and bankroll a spending spree for the Argentinian team. Yet Independiente never came up with a shopping list for Aguero to work from.

His father Leonel is quoted as saying: “Sergio Aguero offered to buy five players and pay their salaries.

“We asked Carlos Squeo (assistant coach to manager Miguel Angel Brindisi) for a list of players. We don’t know what players they want because no-one called back. Not Squeo, not Brindisi. No leadership.

“I feel there is a slight against Sergio.”

Rumours that Manchester United fans have been in touch to take him up on the offer have not been confirmed…

Is ferguson that egotistical and mean spirited that he'd concoct such a scenario?

What is the actual truth. I find it hard to believe taggart live on tv would say Shrek asked for a transfer when other players have mentioned it as well.

I think he did and is just now being a mard arse about it. Either way one of them is lying.

He seems to be a coward with no balls and cares more about the fan reaction, hence try and moan about how he has been treated.

Funny how he's so desperate to leave but refuses to put in a transfer request - it's almost like that would cost him some lost money.

Apparently it's all been a misunderstanding and shrek actually put in a second 'transplant request'. Make of that what you will.

Possibly Shrek asked to leave in an informal conversational way and now needs to make it written and formal. I'm sure he could get someone to write the big words for him.

sounds as if he might just hand one in though.

if rooney goes to chelsea that is not good news for us. of course, worse for the other club involved, but neutrals will surely enjoy the likely battle between us and chelsea for top honours as it would very much hurt the rags chances, if he leaves (starting to think it is gonna happen).

strange predicament as the cost of the transfer is mixed with conflicting reasons it should be higher than or close to what we are reading are the offers.

higher than £30-35:

1) selling to a league rival who is in greatest need of his type of player/position
2) been a top class player for years and is in his prime
3) rags would be seriously hurt as a team and with reputation/value with his loss/have found no replacement in the transfer market

equal to £30-35:

1) has not performed as well as he had earlier in his career, particularly with the drop in goals
2) seeming lack of interest from other foreign top clubs, likely due to his not being the most worldly lad on earth/his own lack of interest living outside england
3) rumors are creating a negative environment with their club's reputation by not dealing with the matter/if he really wants to leave
4) his wages are very high

i think if he goes it will be for somewhere around £40-45.

meanwhile, one would wonder if chelsea would make a suarez bid instead/as well? i guess they figure that's not gonna happen as liverpool is holding fast there, and/or the transfer will be even higher than rooney.

If I had to choose between him going to Chelsea and staying at the rags, I'd want him to stay 100% now. Nothing better than an unhappy, highly-paid, sulking star player for a new manager to deal with.

My view too. Everything taggart does is for taggart's own benefit. I think his own status is far more important to him than anything else, which is why he was so successful as scum manager. Could get rather amusing.

A friend of a friend knows the Govan piss-can from going to the horse-racing. When he (GP-C) has a horse running and it loses, he goes into the winner's enclosure rather than his own. It's all about how he looks in people's eyes.
