Wenger 43 mill euros for Benzema :) French player again, if Real let him go. But i don't think they will ever get better offer for Benzema.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I thought he'd been left behind to look after Sinclair following his break with Rosie?

Plus, his big ass wouldn't fit in the chartered seats ;-)

I thought he was a massive pisshead and was probably hungover or in jail ;-)

More serioisly, I thought he would stay and be a senior squad player. Make the odd substitute appearance and play most league cup games. All this with the agenda to go and head up our MLS side in a year or so.

Depends on his aspirations, but that's not a bad career path.

It does look as if Barry is being moved out, or at least they are trying to.

I really don't get this at all. I realise Tricky is trying to get the wage bill down & the Count is going to try a more free & adventurous style of football to Mancini, & may not want a player looking after the back of midfield, but Barry is an insurance policy against the wheels coming off.

If the whole team can be relied upon to graft like fuck when we lose the ball, then we don't need Barry at all, in fact he would get in the way to some extent, but it's a big ask for the team to get that in the Count's first season, & if some go missing, Barry is the bloke who can come on, spot it, & do their job. Fernandinho doesn't play like Barry, neither does Milner.

Barry hasn't been right during the recent games, but he was certainly sharp as fuck in the first one. Very very sharp on and off the ball. It's since his interview regarding not being wanted at the club that this has changed & looked different; he seemed to have been given 'the word'.

Another injury to Rodwell & we are relying on Garcia as the bloke to put out fires. I don't think Garcia is a bad player at all but he's struggled in the Prem. I hope he gets up to the pace this season but just don't think that is worth the risk.

If we sign Pepe, then he can also do that kind of job, but he is Real's best defender & I can't see them selling, unless they are desperate to generate money.

I think it's up to Gaz Baz if he stays or goes. Even though I like him, when you look at the squad it's quite hard to see where he'd get the game time he needs to keep himself 'on it'. I reckon he's been given the opportunity to talk to other clubs and if we get a few quid back for him then all the better.

One of my star players over the last few seasons and whatever he decides to do, I'll have fond memories of him.

PS. Ted, I can't see us getting Pepe. Where does he sit in the grander scheme of things (1st, 2nd, 3rd choice) when we already have enough cover?

He could well be, it does not look good for him that he has been left behind and looking at the options we now have i can't see him being the regular starter he is accustomed to being.I suppose at 32 if the club can get good money for him it might be hard to turn down a reasonable offer.

Barry has been a key member of the side but i think we are better placed to deal with losing him now with the emergence of Rodwell towards the end of last season and Fernandinho coming in.The pair of them will provide far more energy to the midfield and both have the ability to turn defence in to attack.

If it was my choice i would much rather keep hold of Barry for the moment and try and move on Garcia but that i know is easier said than done.

Imo, Pepe & VK would become first choice (provided of course they can work together) with Nasti & Lescott rotating.

In the Champions Lg, in a big away game, I would have a back 4, Pepe sat in front of it, then Yaya & Fernadinho, then 3 others deemed suitable on the night.

Solid.

He is but I just can't see us pumping a load of money (wage bill as well) into somebody we don't desperatlely need.

I think we need more pace at the back & as I keep saying, I want to see Nastasic actually do some of the stuff people are claiming he can do, before I'm going to believe he is a title/Champions Lg winning centre back.

Lescott & Vinny have not looked especially good in Europe & Pepe is way ahead of them in experience & used to playing in attacking teams where things go pear shaped & he has to bail it out. Our cbs are not great at that.

Can't see them letting Higuain and Benzema go in the same window. They wouldn't have a recognised out-and-out striker left, would they?

I bet it's been great for ST sales all this talk of spending big - Suarez, Benzema et al - I wonder how the fans would have felt if they'd said they were in for a young French lad on the free?

Call me a cynic, and all that.

This transfer window has been hilarious from our point of view.

Our early signings has paid off and is a massive improvement from last year. But I can't help feeling a bit bored now, 'typical city' have become efficient and transfer excitement, or nervousness, is probably over for us this window.

And that's how it should be. I don't get excited or nervous during the window as I have no say in the matter. Just like to see what we've got and work out where we are/could be come the end of the season.

True, but we all play boss time to time when the window opens.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy all the signings have been cleared up early and the players have had chance to train with the team. But I'm just no used to it and I miss the yellow breaking news ticker tape with our name on it.

Maybe they're gonna play CR in the middle and rely on Morata?...

They could use the cash for Bale...

Yeah, I know mate. Think of it like this, you can walk around gloating in the fact that we are all done whilst some are still sniffing around for their first deal. You'll even find time to take the Mrs out ;-)
