International Friendlies

International Friendlies

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Aug 14, 2013 11:49 am

Shit loads of them today, are your team playing?

Obviously my interest will be on the England v Scotland game and hoping we can send them back home with a drubbing, as the Under 21s did last night. Maybe then Strachan will focus on Scotlands misgivings rather than ours.

I'll also be keeping an eye on our guys games, they're all over the show and it's probably a bonus that we are playing Monday.

International Friendlies suck big fat ones, especially less than a week before the season starts.

I love how they call the England v Scotland game a 'friendly'.

i believe it's 14 players, although i'm not sure if that includes Emyr Huws or not, who is playing for the Wales U21 squad.

Exactly mate. These home nations games don't get played often enough for my liking and if there was more it's probably create more interest. Nothing like home rivalries between England, Scotland, Wales and NI. I'd put Ireland on that list as well.

Who wants to see England against the likes of Montenegro, Moldova, San Marino et al, especially if we don't win. At least if we lose to the home nations there's someone to banter with.

I don't usually watch England but as it is against the Jocks I will make an exception. I hope we teach them a lesson, but I doubt it. Although we could humiliate them if Danny 2 Goals Welbeck was to score.

I would rather city win the Johnstone paints trophy than England win the World Cup BUT when it boils down to it the fucking scots can kiss my hairy ass. So I shall have a beer in hand tonight and I hope for two things - England to stuff the land of ingrate obese benefit freckle arsed ginger tossers and a whole pile of united injuries as a result.

No I'm English. Just fed up with England this and England that. England have not been good to watch since the 2002 world cup when we had a real team that you could honestly say had a chance of winning stuff. The press makes it worse in convincing themselves and the rest of the country that England are a world class team, which is far off the mark. England are on level with Poland and Ukraine, no idea why England are so high in the Fifa rankings, above Italy which says it all.

We will beat one of the worse teams in the world 8-0 and the press and players then convince themselves they are world class and will win shit. Press aside, the England players, it's hard to find a single one who wants to be there let alone one that actually performs for their country, not to mention the managers are clueless idiots who pick based on a check list ie England and plays for the rags. We think we are better than teams like Sweden and Ukraine and we are not, we're on their level.

The more we lose the sooner someone is going to actually change things, like Germany did with their team.

Sorry for the rant, I'm not a self hating English person, honest.

Italy are around 5th in the rankings and we're are about 14th. I'm pretty sure we know where we are and if by listening to the press ups your optimism, just remember how poor the FA are, that should bring you back down to earth and remind you of the realities of England FC.

As long as the City lads make it through these games injury free i don't care.

The dinosaurs at Fifa really need to take a look at these friendly fixtures taking place every year just as the season kicks off.

Maybe you should actually look at the rankings on the FIFA website before making a rant. Ukraine fans might be insulted that you placed their team in the same category as Poland who is ranked 72.
