Given the disparity between the two sides in international standings and the current score I think a Scot wold have been a better choice for motm

Get in.

And Welbeck, you're having a laugh but which Rag player could they go for?

As above, no Rag players.

I'm not sure if it was the occassion but I thought Scotland played quite well. We struggled for periods of the game and they looked far better on the ball. We then got our heads into it and showed what we had going forward, thank fuck.

Downside: How many Rags can they squeeze onto the pitch? We shouldn't be giving players match time for fitness or giving them practice in a new position. The FA and Hodgson need to take a long hard look at themselves if they think England is a practice game for the Rags to improve.

I always wonder if other non-rag fans feel the same as we do about this hold they seem to have over... well, everything.

I'm sure Hodgson said to Lescott and Richards "if you're not playing regularly, you won't be picked."
I know we are in pre-season, but Rooney hasn't played fuck all apart from the 10 minute shuffle when he got injured.

Double standards and I'm sure it can't just be us who feel aggrieved by it all.

Ricky 'Legend' Lambert, as he is now called, proves that you don't have to have your head up your arse to play for England.

Really enjoyed that game, it's what football is all about.

I speak with many different supporters on a regular basis and many are of the same opinion, some just don't care.

Brilliant game. So nice to see England players giving an actual shit every now and then. Something which has been largely absent in recent years.

It's becoming pretty clear that England need to concentrate solely on emerging talent. Players like Welbeck and Wilshere were miles ahead of the likes of Rooney and Gerrard - the latter two haven't put in a performance for England in yonks.

Really happy for Lambert but again this is game time could've been given to some prospects rather than a guy who isn't very likely to go to the World Cup.

Hart looks like he might still have mistakes in him which is a bit worrying.

I think they're both excellent players if you play to their strengths and I feel we've got a really nice blend upfront this season. I read an interview with Negredo (in Spanish) that he thought the Premier League was the best league due to the test in depth and that he thought he couls cement his place in the Spanish team with the new way they play. It looks like Spain are evolving their play and Negredo sees himself as an integral part of the team.

At least supporting city doesn't go hand in hand with supporting Scotland now. Dare to hope

My 2 worse players were Gerard and Lampard. They seem to be everything that we should no longer have from the past. They look for the easy pass or the longball well away from themselves, something they wouldn't normally do when they are in the comfort zone of their club teams.

Good to see Roy is looking at young players but what is discouraging is that he will only look at a certain few teams. Last time it was Dippers, this time it's the Rags.

Lampard wasn't fantastic but there were far worse. The two I mentioned, both centerbacks, even Hart.

It's pretty clear to most people how great Lampard, Gerrard and players like Rooney have been domestically but it's also clear they don't really work for England. It's not that these guys aren't international standard, god know why they don't work, but they don't.

England should focus on a core XI and pay a bit less attention to club form. The likes of Welbeck, Carroll even Milner turn it on for their country over their club so build a strong team of regulars. The days of international football being more prestigious than club football are gone and England need to adapt.

Not getting into the debate about picking scousers and ra..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I accepted that I will never see England win a major trophy. We're well overhyped. Really happy for Ricky Lambert, and absolutely disgusted that the fa still deep throat anyone to do with the rags.

Don't forget ITV. When was the last time Taggart was on the panel of an International game.
