Can we buy Sturridge back? He's such an exciting player. He could still be considered investing in youth. Please?

Stoke are defending exactly like we have been defending pre season. No real protection in front of the defence, so players having time to either shoot or pick out a runner, fullbacks allowing runs inside them, centre backs playing offside without telling their team mates.

I really hope it was just a pre season thing with us, & not a sign of how we will play.

Lump it long and hope Crouch gets on the end of it isn't straight?

I would say that they're mixing their play quite a bit and I wouldn't say that their lumping it to crouch for him to shoot directly. Also, I didn't say that they never played straight ;).

Liverpool look pretty good though. Aspas, Gerrard, Sturridge, Henderson and Coutinho are switching brilliantly and they're finding all kinds of angles to get through Stoke, who fortunately for them have a brilliant keeper in Begovic.

As much of a prat as Rodgers clearly is, I do get the district impression he knows what he's doing and I fancy him to do a decent job there over time.

Its tricky how to figure out how we line up to address this. I'd like us to make sure we look tight in the first instance once the real business starts. We can all now see how good and dangerous we look going forward so id be happy to see Barry in a shoring things up initially even of that means starting fernandinho on the bench.

If we are playing 2 up top then we need to sacrifice something somewhere to deploy that extra man needed to fill that space you've referred to previously which is causing us all types of problems

Some of our attacking football under sparkyarse was excellent.

It was. I remember watching the goals from his period at us and it was magnificent at times. Remember thinking that our attacking football, when it worked, was something that Mancini really could try to keep hold of. He didn't though, although it looked promising at first.

Anyways, I wasn't talking about the quality, rather the style. But again, casual observation. I have no idea if that is something general or just something I thought I saw.

You're right, they lumped that one to Etherington's head.

Yeah I'm not gonna do this with you. Find someone else to play with :).

I'm ok with it at the moment. With BT sometimes the feed is a bit slow. Pause it for a minute then play and this will take up the slack.

Well don't go making such retarded statements then, every time they play the ball on the ground they lose it way too easily, anything that gets anywhere is a lump to a forward's head.

Fuck that was a good save.
