I usually did the same when I subscribed to the Swedish equivalent of this. It was pretty much impossible to watch the online-streams undisturbed and wihtout frequent buffering. Then I went and found an illegal stream feeding of the stream I paid for and watched without any problems. Great. My guess is that it's because the legal operators don't use torrent-technology (or similar) but the illegal streams do.
