No way Garcia should get a look in even if Yaya is out.Barry,Milner or Rodwell fit the bill easily.

I think today's results are good for City to remind them how hard it's going to be to win the title. The scum win at a canter even though they didn't look very convincing to me with the exception of RVP of course. Plus the Arse lose.We are going to have to hit the ground running.

I agree with all the points ... but we also better score 4+ tomorrow and get on top of the table; don't like seeing them up there one bit. 4-1 will do just fine too.

I hope Pellers mentioned that to the team, along the lines of "It's a strikers job to score goals".

Already showing wizard like abilities.

Let's hope he doesn't tell Cleverley & Carrick what their jobs are.

Aguero having not kicked a ball in any competitive sense since picking up his knee injury in the Chelski friendly in May surely won't be match fit. Negredo's midweek travelling may well mean it's Jovetic who plays behind Dzeko.

I was impressed with how Negredo and Dzeko linked up pre season however, and would like to see them start for City on Monday. I think at home we should play two up top and look to put teams to the sword.

I feel we might see a better Edin Dzeko this season if we are more direct. He's much happier trying to get on the end of a ball in the box.

What's wrong in wishing? but that's how I feel tonight!

PS. Anyone seen Owen's predictions on BT Sport's season preview? He thinks 1. Chelsea, 2. United, 3. City and 4. Liverpool. What are they smoking over there ...

Nothing wrong with that prediction imo? Pool, Arse or Spuds are all fighting for that fourth spot and who ends up on top - us, Chelsea, scum..who knows. But I do know we need to get off to a flyer starting with a win tomorrow!

The league is about 38 games so lets just hit the road running monday night with 3 points and a fucking clean sheet for me ...... 2 nil will do nicely . Can see Nasri starting , he looks up for it this season ....... will be interesting if Navas starts ? my guess he will be on the bench with Jovetic maybe ?

Nasri, when played in that position for periods as opposed to out wide (where he does nothing), has been the best player to play there pre season. Much better than anything Jovetic has shown so far & more energetic & elusive than Dzeko or Negredo. So if he does get the nod, he will deserve it. It's so easy for managers just to bung him on the left though, that I fear that may be his fate once again.

Agreed Ted , he is at his most effective in that position and hopefully we wont be trying to "walk" the ball into the net like last season. Nasri also scores his goals from this position and maybe is far happier playing there than being stuck out on the left which pisses him off ? We will see !

That line up I like. I wonder how fluid The Count will be. I'd like to see some of that lot shifting positions. Also with the bench so strong it begs to look at games in two parts, with a proper shift around at 60mins. Navas and Negredo coming on or Navas and Jovetic or... push Yaya forward, drop Milner back to DM and put Navas on the wing and a fresh striker.

The options are very very good.

Agreed , especially the Navas option and a fit and firing Aguero ! We do need to keep clean sheets though.

Kompany, Yaya, Navas, Silva, Aguero

If they are fit I think they're vital.

Set everything else to flavour.

If we can keep Cabaye and Ben-Arfa quiet, we will control and dominate this game throughout.
Those two are big threats and if allowed to play can cause problems for anyone.

Saying that, if we play well, those two will be too busy chasing play than going forward. I also think Jovetic should start. I really rate the lad and should be part of the top 4 tomorrow.
Navas. Silva. Jovetic
Dzeko

I can see a 4-1 win for us.

I would have thought they'd be more worried about keeping our stars quiet rather than the other way round

Completely agree.

But defensively, we control these two, we control their attack. They will get the ball as two teams are playing. They are their danger men so we need to get hold of them when we are defending.

Our attack can run riot and will run riot, I have no doubt like I said.
