If we are crowned champions at the end of the season this thorny issue will be a distant memory. If not, we will come back a second time and try again.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

That was FAR FAR better then anything we saw last season. In one game.
Only minor issue is that we could be more ruthless and clinical in front of goal but other than that we were brilliant.

What a great start. Some sublime football played by the lads tonight. The new boys fitted right in. Shame that Negredo's goal wasn't counted but he'll score many more. Dzeko excellent tonight, was involved in everything. Well done lads. Well done Count. Top of the league and let's stay there!
Will sleep like a baby tonight !

I like Carragher, ever since he offered Durham out he's been good for me. He's making me piss on Sky now, the typical Scouser lahhh.

Brilliant start of the season, fckn hell. Even though I sometimes get the old inherently-bad-touch feeling about Dzeko his overall performance was great. And with Navas providing the crosses, I reckon he'll prove his worth this season.

There's no need to defend him mate, this is what a lot of us thought we were getting, it was just that he let his head go down.

Excellent game and he's brought it through from pre-season. The goals will come but even if they don't, if he plays like that then there won't be many complaints.

What did I tell you, no video's required ;-)

O i don't defend him i just say it wasn't man of the match for me for not scoring goal . That take away and give it to Yaya or Silva but yea hes much much different them under Bob .

One word for tonight. Domination.

We looked for all the world the confident team that won the title again, just boosted by some really world class signings.

If we don't win the league i will be shocked.

We are 100% the team to beat this year!

He's playing his own power games - in his prematch interview he seemed to be saying that 'someone' is considering selling him, but that he doesn't want to sell. The postmatch interview is to try and put a a bit more pressure on that 'someone'.

Pardew also added "but we threatened their goal and we looked like we could get something."

Threatened how? With the one shot on target in 90 minutes? And I don't even remember that.

Cracking result, well done City.

I think it was that first half moment where Hart caught and held a long range effort.

Good hold as well, thank god Hart didn't do anything that people could point at and go, PANTS!

And just another clean sheet towards another GG.

From Rag Cafe;

"Ignoring how awfull Newcastle looked, City looked very good, reminded me at their first few months from two years ago. Navas really brings them something else, eventhough it wasn't some great performance from him, and I don't think he's some top class, but they were certainly lacking that type of player.

Aguero-Dzeko partnership looks very good, both can score lots of goals, their movement is very good, and they both can get involved in build up and help create something, very good performance from Dzeko's, his probably best game in years for City looking at just build-up play(should have score, but his finishing was never problem), I think he will thrive under Pellegrini.

After this weekend I haven't changed my mind, City is still our biggest threat IMO, mostly because of strikers they have"

And chelsea is our ONLY threat this year. You fuckers will be in our rear view mirror by Christmas.
