How did Jamie Carragher do? I've always liked him as a footballer and as a person (from what I've seen of him).

He's VERY scouse, but it doesn't really bother me to be honest. He made some good points and i think he's pretty good potentially. Does a little too much at the moment. He was kinda hogging the limelight a little and it reminded me of when Neville started - bag of nerves and talked himself into a hole a little. He hasn't quite got the presenting sheen yet that Neville has now (its notable how professional Neville has become when compared)

He needs to relax into it a little i think. Good camaraderie already with Neville. They're both insightful and passionate... overall i think Carragher will do well.

Loved it mate. Not quite a commentator/pundit/after-match specialist but comes across like a real football player.

The movement was all coaching style and if people can't understand Scousers then they are living too far away from home.

Difficult to describe maybe a bit wibbly wobbly wonder at times very animated but hard to understand at the best of times.Poor rat boy could hardly get a word in edge ways.Sky need to man up and send him for elocution lessons or sort out much needed subtitles.

I liked him: he's blunt and doesn't pull any punches. And he's funny
(and yes, I could understand everything he's saying)

My worry is that Sky either try to smooth out the rough edges, or that he'll be selective of who he's criticising: if he trashes 'Lamps', and Giggsy, and John Terry, when they screw up, then I know for sure we've got a winner on our hands.

Both of their grasp of current coaching and tactics gives you a more worthwhile viewing experience than the old guard do though so I hope they stick with them.

Agree with the second bit about their knowledge

Was funny watching neville work the screen for him, and also to see the cameraman trying to keep up with him throwing himself about to the left and right whilst talking.

Not 100% sure I enjoyed it yet, will give it another go, maybe soon the country wont need subtitles for him

I saw the bit when he commented about the only people spending money at Arsenal are the fans. I thought that was pretty funny. He is a good guy and I hope he does well.

Thought he was good, a little over excited at times, but offered some good points and appears to be brighter than i previously thought he was. Dunno about Neville feeling threatened tho - different styles and neville is excellent.

He will take some getting used to - very over-powering, even leaping around the studio demonstrating marking at times.

Squeaky voice and over-Scouse accent gave my eldest lad a headache and my missus couldn't tell what he said.

I think there must have been times when the producers thought 'for Christ's sake shut the fuck up'. But his knowledge and enthusiasm are unquestionable and I'm sure they'll reign him in a bit.

Both of them were very good but they are both interpreting what they see with a preconception of proving the point they are trying to make, rather than just describing what happened. They are discussing it off camera & then presenting a particular viewpoint.

They were very complimentary about City, but had clearly decided they weren't happy about Newcastle's defending, so made that the main topic. In contrast, earlier, they had decided that RVP was the topic, so when Swansea defended 10 times worse than Newcastle, decided that RVP 'made' them defend like shit, just because of something he did earlier. It's how they chose to see it, rather than what actually happened.

If Carragher can 'calm down, calm down', then he could be good, but I can't listen to that scouse whine every week, even if he's talking sense.

At last we have someone honest, experienced down to earth who is respected by all and not ex rag. I like him, though the dog had to translate when he got excited due to how high his voice went.
