I think he should be kept playing. There are normally a couple of times during a game when I am glad it's him in net for us.Also there is the fact that he has built himself up quite a big reputation, more than Pants, and for me that fear he puts in people, wins him some credit.

Best in English keeper, best in the PL,in the top 3 in Europe, how fickle we have become, build them up to knock them down.Stick with the best 11 not what seems to be flavour of the month chopping and changing.

People asking for the manager to drop Hart are doing so to a) improve the team short-term, and b) help Hart regain his confidence so he is back to his best long-term. I doubt anyone here has got any other concerns in this issue at all.

As a player you get confidence back by performing well, not by being rested/dropped.

What do we think now? It's a training pitch situation for me at the moment. Whomever looks best in training should get the run.

Nice save, did well to shut down the 1-on-1, couple of very nice punches. It was a good response from him.

I didn't see him do anything wrong this game, wasn't watching him very closely though - he had a few good moments in the Cardiff game too, despite the problems.

Played well today. Came out taking no prisoners to punch the ball away. Distribution not great but he got the ball back into play a lot quicker. Only routine saves required but far more commanding and inspired confidence for the first time in a while.

Trying to show his confidence with the step over today, catching that early corner boosted him, overall happy with his display, did lots of talking to the defence and most of the defensive issues were caused nearer the halfway line, gap between defence and midfield was far too big, like two separate units operating and not one team

I am still more comfortable with Hart between the sticks than I would be with any other 'keeper at the club.

No point in dropping him.

Joe's fumbling lost us at least 10 points last season and has already lost us 3 points this season. I can understand your desire to back him but how many more points will you be happy to see him drop before we use our back-up keeper (a keeper that can actually deal with a corner)?
Should we wait until we're 10 points behind the leaders before we decide to do something - would that sit well with you?

Horseshit. Joe never cost us them points.

That was my count FiBDs. You might count it different (all down to opinion innit) but you must surely recognise that our hero big Joe, England's No. 1, has been half goalie / half Mr bean since the start of last season.
I love him for what he can do well but he's never been great dealing with corners, his distribution was shite and is perhaps a bit less shite now, he used to organise his defence (remember him bollocking the defence? He did do that at one time)but stopped doing that at the end of the 2011 / 12 season.
As a huge positive he was indeed the best stopper on the planet on his day . . and a genius in a 1 on 1 situation.
Trouble is that not now he ain't.
I dearly want him to come good but feel that he should warm the bench until he does while Costel has a blast. If Costel had been in net against the taffs we'd have won that one - doubtless. Would've been nice to have been sat on 9 points eh?
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

We have a spine of top quality players: Hart, Kompany, Yaya and Aguero. All of them come under critcism when they are out of form. With the exception of injuries/fatigue and Carling cup games they would always be first on my team sheet.
These players know when they are not performing to their best and dont need dropping to improve performance and confidence.
They are critical to our success.

Just noticed today, barely saw Joe kick the ball. Instead he was throwing it straight back out and pretty damn accurately too. Anybody else think we should be telling him to do the same for us?

Think he's already been told, he's been doing it from the outset of the Newcastle game.

Oh, hadn't noticed previously. Might be cause I was focusing on Hart's performance more than normal since he was the only City player for most of the match.
