If the club doesn't think he's capable of being our 4th choice centre back, then considering he's played first team football for us, Bolton and FC Twente, maybe we should consider moving him on?

I've always thought he's done well when he's played for us, although admittedly his loan spells weren't that great. I think he'd be fine playing against Cardiff with Hart, Lescott, Clichy and Zab around him, especially as he's played in big matches before against United and Chelsea.

Not sure if the management see it that way. If so, I wonder why we've kept him.

We cannot sell kolo and boyata in the same window. 2 great songs going in one window would be disastrous.

I Just Blue Myself wrote:I like (the idea of) Demichelis. He's experienced, wouldn't command as high a wage as someone like Pepe, never mind the fee, knows Pellegrini & would sit on the bench if necessary. Has a clanger or two in him tho, but at the top of his game, I rate him very highly. He was ace for a while at Bayern.

What we definitely don't need is another 'talent' or someone who'll need to settle, e.g. players from South America or a substandard European league.

Agree with this.

I think getting Demi in is a good idea, as the guy will purely cover the team this term... maybe even next too. He won't break the bank and Pelle also knows exactly what he is buying, which is a good thing.

So should we get him, this year we would have (in order of best to worst)... Kompany, Nasty, Lescott, Demi, Boyata.

Next year we will likely have... Kompany, Nasty, Rekik, Demi, ??? (I fully expect Lescott/Boyata to leave at the end of this year)

Bringing in Demi leaves open the opportunity for the increasingly impressive Rekik to break into the team next season after his year with PSV, where as signing Pepe or another expectant starter of a CB would effectively freeze him out.

Given Rekiks development I think it is worth signing a stop gap CB for this season and gambling on him coming good next year. We need to bring through these talents now, there is absolutely no point to this huge academy if we don't!

Canada is one of the few places outside Europe where I could consider living. Nice and intelligent people and generally humane people. Certainly lot more than you can say of majority of backward mongs living in bibble belt of USA.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Aha. It spikes on a Sunday after church too. Interestingly proportionally the most hits in the world for gay porn is Pakistan.

Not great. I said after the Cardiff game that if Vinnie missed 6 games this season we could forget winning the league and if it was 10 we could be nail biting about 4th. Nothing against Hull made me feel any more confident.

Hopefully Richards will be fit for Stoke otherwise Lescott and Nastasic need to work it out very quickly. May be time to play a proper defensive midfielder in front of the back four to give protection - anyone got Everton's number?

Is it unrealistic to see the coaches iron out the areas we need work on. No Komps is a blow, it happens to every club, the scum had no Vidic and coped.

The game against Bayern just got tougher. If we win with a Garcia-Lescott back-line, it would be a miracle.

If we play with the current tactics then we'll probably get beat. Saying that, it'd be a more expansive game and allow our attacking play come into effect.

Would be interesting, for sure.
