The 6-1 threads?

Postby AG7 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 9:46 pm

A quick question ... probably very easy for someone here but I can't find it (use forum on my phone mostly) ...

Can someone please post the link to the match-day game thread from that day here on our forum?

Also would be great if you can paste the link to the RedCafe's (and BlueMoon's) threads from that day along with it ... (or if there is some sort of rule for not doing those links here, then well, leave it) but would be nice to scroll through the threads from that remarkable day ...

Thanks in advance!

We've lived off the 5-1 for so long because it was a beacon to us in a period of uncertainty, will the 6-1 ever eclipse it?

You are having a giraffe aren't ya?

We inflicted United’s biggest home defeat on them since 1955; equal biggest since 1927!

And if that wasn't enough, the whiskey soaked red faced (even redder than usual today) old fart has admitted on camera that today was his worst moment as a manager.

Prepare for that record to be smashed as well.

AHA!

I was fucking right as well.

Just watched that game again on BT sport. Don't think we'll ever see a better performance than that. We were magnificent. Every single player. A near faultless performance. The passing was crisp, the off the ball movement was great. Silva was at his very best. Balotelli had his best game for us.
Happy times.

I actually felt we played better away to spurs that season and the home derby too.

As far as setting our stall out with a game plan that worked to counteract the opposition and what they had set out to do, imo both those performances were better overall.

Only you could argue that the 1-0 is better than a 6-1 mate!
We just looked like scoring every time we went forward in the 6-1. I've never seen the Rags carved open like that so easily. Not even in the hammerings Barca gave them. Utter dominance that was.

Only me.

I felt the first 25 mins of that game it never looked like a 1-6. In fact, I thought the rags had the better of most of the first half. Then with the goal and the sending off, I felt we were going to get a 1-3.

To me it looked like that until a crazy last ten mins when they just seemed to implode and we were on fire.

An amazing and unrivalled result, but not, imo the finest performance we have ever had.

Only me!

I see where you're coming from. It could have been far greater the scoreline though. At 3-0 Silva missed a really good chance, Dzeko missed a couple of good ones, it really could have been 10!
Rags did play ok in the first half but they never even came close to scoring. In fact the only chances they had were from distance. As soon as we went 1-0 up, we never looked for a second like we wouldn't win that and comfortably too.
The quality of the goals bar the 4th was ridiculous. The second and third especially.
Crisp passing, off the ball movement, first time crosses and most importantly no fannying about with the ball!

Spurs game was great too. The two best games I've seen of us in recent years. Can't believe we won 5-1 at the lane and 6-1 at OT. crazy.
