Barry showed what we are missing. An extra body doing that in front of our defence and we will be facing far less chances against us.

Good one.

And if the scouse win their game on Monday, some fan out there is likely to tattoo "Premier League Champions 2014" on his arm ;-)

Yep.

I don't think the Count wants a player in that position, any player, just protecting. He wants alrounders.

Imo, that means you need people like Roy Ke*** & Colin Bell in centre mid, not Yaya & Fernandinho. Either that or the whole team grafting like fuck when you lose the ball. We did that for about 10 mins v Stoke, then back working in ones and twos.

Barry got more recognition from commentators today, than he did in his whole career at City. Biased wankers.

He was smiling coming off, looking at the crowd all singing & applauding. He's used to a few people waving at him from the aisles, as the rest are already in the car park.

Gaz Baz on the winning team, not bad for someone who's apparently shite and past it...

MOM too, but thats probably just Sky's way of shoving our noses in it.

Joke decision by Pellers and the club.

Well done Everton!

Walking down Oxford road earlier with the misses and some rag cunt asks us where Oxford train station is even though it was 30 second walk in front. He had a southern accent too...

Luckily we look for most of our players to suit the language of the manager. I'd have loved for Pellers to have a chat with Barry.

I don't think Barry is just a protecting player either. He also does a good job going forward. Remember our first goal at OT last season, all made by him grafting for the ball, winning it and charging forward with it.

Can't believe some on here wanted him to go.
Like Bellamy, he had another season or two left in him.

What He often did for us and was doing for Everton today was provide an outlet behind the forward players to play back to, often un-marked and in space he allowed them to keep possession and start attack again.

He's a quality, experienced player who reads the game exceptionally well and has a calming influence on the team.
I remember when we first signed him a Villa fan said 'After a few games you'll wonder what he brings to the side, after a few years you'll wonder how you ever coped without him'

Seems pretty true.

I saw that too - it was a ground cross similar to a cross Zabba made today for us (except his was head height as it passed through the box) - they had Ronaldo lurking in the area and Bale sliding in at the far post, we had no one near the ball.

Ozil looked impressive. Atkinson blew that match though.

Dortmund look quite alright without Gotze. His replacements are doing just fine.

I missed MotD last night but from all accounts Sunderland should have levelled but the ref then pulled it back to give them a freekick. How the hell can that happen, allow play to go on only to bring it back to a lesser advantage?

Exactly correct. And Koscielny's conceded penalty was soft as baby shit.
