Since when? Their derby has always been against Liverpool, (I refer you to Sir Bacon's Law - Chapter 16)

have absolutely no idea what to expect from pilsen, know nothing about them. but one thing is for sure we cant loose or were in trouble. it will be interesting to see the team for that match as the CL may be manuel p's priority this season. as for the derby, considering the way we are playing and the injury list, i would be happy with a draw.

Plzen are a crap side and we must beat them and I think we will even if only just.

The scum area good side but are not playing very well at the moment. The trouble is they are playing better than we are and if that continues next weekend we should be worried.I just hope the win tomorrow lifts the whole team and we find the right spirit and team for the derby.

Since the Dippers beat them, that's when ;-)

Under normal circumstances I'd be very confident about the Plzen game and excited about the Derby game, knowing it should be a hard fought game that we could definately win. However, reagrdless of whether the Rags have been shit, we've looked a little shitter. I'm hoping the lads step it up and regardless of system, just start playing football. It can happen.

By the way, what were your thoughts on the Stoke game, were you expecting to win that one?

How have we been shitter than the rags? They have not scored from open play in 3 games. We are above them. I expected a draw against Stoke. We have scored 8 goals and have 3 clean sheets hardly relegation form. We should be confident because we have not got into top gear yet and still sit 4th.

We should be thankful rather than confident. We have played 4 shite teams and taken 7 points and 4 of those points came from games where we probably deserved to lose.Cardiff and Hull are relegation candidates and Newcastle maybe not far off.

The scum have played Swansea away which is no walkover ( How do you think we will do there?) and 2 of the top teams. If we stay in the gear we are in we are in trouble but I sure we will start to get it right and that has to start now as the next 2 games are massive (there again every next 2 games are massive if we have pretentions of winning the league and doing well in the CL.

The performance of Swansea & Palace v the rags was way below the standard of anything we have faced, including Newcastle though. Cardiff, Hull & Stoke aren't very good sides, but all did actually play very well on the day vs us & imo all 3 would have given the rags, or Chelsea for that matter, serious problems. Stoke in fact missed a last min pen at Anfield which denied them a point.

I doubt Swansea will play so badly against anybody else & I doubt any of those 3 will play v rags like they did v us, but that doesn't change the fact that, on the day, they ran their bollocks off & did well.

And we did actually beat one & draw v another, something for which the rags have been praised/shouted at on here many times over the years in very similar circumstances (indeed v Swansea, where they were totally shit & won by a mile).

Not sure that's quite right about Swansea. They actually started very well v Utd and for roughly 30 minutes were the better side easily. But RVP did what he does and then it suddenly became an easy win against a team that folded quickly.

We simply don't seem to have the answers against teams away from home that get amongst us and make it hard for us to play.

I recon Negredo would have had a fair chance of scoring v Stoke, if they defended a straight, hopeful ball over the top, the way Swansea did, or the way they defended the cross for Wellbeck's goal. The same two attacks v Stoke would have been swallowed up without even a raised heartbeat.

But it's true, we do struggle v such teams. I just recon Chelsea & rags would struggle even more if presented with the same challenge early on this season. I don't see much midfield grit or great defensive organisation in their performances so far.

You expected a draw against Stoke? I'm sure you were spouting the 'Let's be confident' line which sounds like you were expecting a win, otherwise why be confident?

And truth be told, I think we have been the worse of the probable top 6 in general game play. Yes, the Rags have been shit and those around us haven't been up to their best. Probably says more about us than anything else.

However, like I said, we have a lot to improve on and if the players start to click we should be beating all before us. The question is, when will they click?

Good test now though so let's see how we get on. Do well, I'll be more confident, do shit and I'll be the opposite. Maybe a new Pearce era awaits.

nobody has been setting the league alight, unless you believe the crap spouted by scouse1 fans, my god they are a deluded lot. They have a 100% record, have not exactly been great, with 3 x 1-0 wins. I hope Swansea get their act together tonight and stuff them.

I am very pleased to be sitting in 4th considering our performances thus far, 5 years ago we would be in the bottom 3. We are very lucky to have a top quality team that when playing poor, can still grind out a result. I just hope we click sooner rather than later....especially with the Rags coming up...also woundn't like to face Bayern Munich in this form, that's for sure.

Yes i was in direct contrast to the negativity that is constantly on show on here. No chance of a pearce type era awaiting us. The over reaction after 4 games is ridiculous. We have had injuries and a international break to contend with. We need the full squad training and playing together for a good couple of months before we will start to look like champions.

I don't imagine Liverpool will still be around at the end, but tbf, & this is coming from someone who regularly takes the piss out of them; I think they have looked just about the best side in the Prem so far. Still totally flawed, but not quite as foundationless as everyone else. Hopefully Swansea will start playing & give them a good seeing to tonight.

2 wins on top of a draw at Stoke could be a top week, on the other hand this is City, we are doomed.

I'm with you there mate, we've got ot be happy with where we are. I'm sure things will click soon and I think with the home advantage we'll step-up our game. Plzen should be a formality and I can see us winning comfortably, it's just that nagging feeling that says we should be better so far.

Onward and upwards, as they say.

No, I think you've joined a forum that actually looks at games and takes everything into account. Nothing wrong with optimism, I'm the biggest one for it.

Yes, we will come good, there's no doubt about that. We'll get there but we may have to hang on until then. The problem is that we may be out of contention early on and have to go on a run of games where we win every one on the bounce. Plus, how many months do we need, we've already had 3 months?
