We don't break quickly enough to get the run in teams. So with the slow build up it's tough to play off the shoulder of defenders. That and the insistance on playing to feet rather than into space. The build up also means it's always compressed up top and teams can organise defence. The way these are playing we should be able to break quickly and go for a counter once in a while.

It's all about looking for the opportunities, they are there or can be created with movement even when pressing high up the pitch. Problem is its like a team of statues at the top end of the pitch with everyone looking for the man on the ball to do all the work

I'm convinced half the raw talent has been coached out of our players in recent years

Well there's our CL campaign completely destroyed.

What's next?

cheers

p.s. negative fuckers. You'd think it was criminal to fucking actually have to play a goddam match against teams anymore.

Quinn describes it as the Plzen onslaught. Go fuck yourself Quinn. Blind or biased from the off. I used to love him as a player at City. He hates us now. Odd.

Who? Barry?

I haven't seen anything of Fernandinho so far to suggest he's worth 30 million. In fact his most influential role has been for the opposition - to stop Yaya getting forward.
A couple of times that half Yaya charged forward and showed us just what he can do.

Not the worst half.Unfortunate not to be winning Nasri and Aguero look really fired up.Still have a few players who look dead on their feet again tonight.Kolarov is woeful.

I think we are playing well, the best game of the season so far. Yaya is being played in a different role (like pre-season) and looks the nuts and the team as a whole looks more balanced. The problem, once again, seems to be our % rate in front of goal, our strikers need to put them away.

Plzen look organised but nothing more. We look twice the team and I cannot for the life of me understand why the commentators (who are they again) are bigging them up to such an extent.

Same in the 2nd half but just take our chances. Navas needs to hold it more to bring the defenders out and we'll be sorted.

PS. Nasri is having a really good game.

I have no idea why we paid so much for Fernandinho. He looks a reasonably good player, but not someone worth spending a third of our summer budget on. He wasn't what we needed.

Back to the game though...Yaya is much better when going forward. If we put in Milner and/or Rodwell behind him, we could release Yaya of his defensive duties and he can focus on what he does best.

Pretty crappy half against a crap team. I just can't work out why the movement is so laboured off the ball.Kolarov is maybe the only one and he's just waiting to foul someone and get sent off.Why do we let them cross when they get wide. They thrive on crosses and we keep allowing them in.

We should be ahead as that chance for Edin just doesn't get any easier and we are a better side than they are but as it stands they just need one of those crosses to find a head and we could be embarrassed>best City player on the pitch for me is the lino on the far side

I made that point when we signed him and got stick for it.
We didn't need to spend 30 million on a 28 year old who plays in a position we're already strong in.

Depressing Slow Lethargic Predictable Woeful Mancity Team. I think its got to be Yaya who changes the tempo of this game.

Quinn's a man full of hate - always was and always will be. He didn't ever enjoy playing for us, got forced to by his agent and suffered it but it made him into a bitter twat.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Edin wasnt very brave. If he launched himself at it, he would have scored. The high foot from the defender made him pull out of the full blooded header.
