We look worse because of one thing. Toure. I've said it many times but I think he is killing us and having to apparently name him first on the team sheet cripples us. He's putting in absolutely zero fucking effort for me, and the way teams are bypassing him once he's turned back to his own goal is a joke.

Maybe it's the manger telling him what role he wants him to play, but he isn't doing it very well and our centre backs are getting no protection. He's also not distributing very well from the back except the short passes sideways. He is clearly being used as the link between defence and attack but he slows the shit out of the game. Receives the ball and immediately looks for the simple pass rather than see if there is a space he could attack therefore drawing a player in before making the pass. I don't want him to overcommit, but he has to commit someone else they have the numbers on us. Most of today we had a back 5 he was so deep.

Think of the role he's doing and the sort of tackles Nigel used to put in. Toure isn't doing this which is why we are so exposed. He really should be bossing the midfield better than he is.

Nice sidestep of the fact that your stats confirmed what I said. No longer interested in those stats but hang your hat on a great goal scored while he was playing a different role, which was exactly my point. If you think the manger was right to play him defensively and that he enjoys playing there, that's up to you.

His field position v Stoke was mainly very deep, where as last night he was way up in the final third for a lot of the game and we were a different side. At stoke he picked the ball up deep and just shifted it simple, last night he was involved in intricate attacking play and making runs to create space, like he did for Aguero's goal. I know where I'd rather see him and what I'd rather see him doing.

I dont think we look solid at all. I think our defence has looked dodgy and its good fortune the we were not facing quality opposition to expose us. We need to have a good defensive game to keep the rags at arms length.

A week today we were staring down the barrel at our first crisis under our new manager just a few weeks into the season. Two wins later and fans and media a like are singing our praises.

2nd half against Plzen and derby were much better performances. Now need to do that every week, especially away at 'smaller' teams. That was our downfall last season and 1 point away at Cardiff and Stoke isn't a good start, although hard to tell anything in only 2 games.
