I get that he scored two goals but how did Jovetic look?

And what about Lopes? How long did he get?

Gel.

And I think that was the point of playing such a strong side at this stage of the competition, more games we can get the likes of JoJo, Negredo and Navas involved in, the quicker we'll adapt to the new system.

It also keeps the likes of Milner and Dzecko fit and happy. You get the feeling the later much prefers being a sub these days.

I honestly think there is a 25+ season in him, he has such a crisp powerful shot that used the same way the rags utilize Princess and he could have a stormer of a season.

I have been saying that since we bought him. He was a square peg in a round hole under Mancini who seemed to want him to link up and hold the ball up at which he is useless.

If he starts 30 odd league games this season I think he could hit 30 goals.

Great thing is that we have four hungry strikers in any moment and Pelle gives all of them same treatment so nobody will lose focus , that is what i like.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

It's only Wigan so feet on the grounds etc, but that said, it does seem to be coming together nicely and in line with what Pellegrini said about attacking even when ahead in his first interview.

My keen analytical mind spots a pattern; 3-0, 4-1, 5-0 ... :-)

I dis fear tonight that we would turn out with a half arsed attitude and maybe go out with a last minute pie eater goal. Much like we have seen so much in the past against teams we should brush to one side.

We looked to be up for it with hunger and passion and clearly the class shone through. Get three at villa and we will push on for a great season.

Chuffed for Jovitic.

Lopez good in the first half ( from the stills i saw! ) lively , involved, sharp and aggressive. got about 65-70mins and was perhaps tiring by then.

Jovetic looked good and after scoring seemed to find himself... started taking players on and generally causing a lot of nuisance, dropping deeper looking for the ball, smooth play. When up to full speed and relaxed he will be some player. Looking fwd to him and lil Dave together tbh.

Not sure if it was just me but that set up seemed to be channeling a real lot of play to Milner, who had a good game. Or maybe it was just that Boyce made Jimmy look like the roadrunner.

There was an ease to JoJo's play that's very nice to watch. He looks like a classy player.

He just loves having the ball. No matter how many players were around him, he wanted it. He is going to be quality.

From my wife I believe that you can be "well jel" but if we are talking about hair/lubricating or a team bedding down then the spelling is certainly "gel"....even if you are a massive statesidespastic like DoomMerchant

Ten substitutes after derby win and another impressing performance! Yaya's playstation-free kicks are so beautiful, will he really involve as much to become next Fifa World Player of the Year?

Just got back from the Etihad . We played some lovely quality football again , strong line up and bench . Lopez played well , should have bagged a couple . Decent crowd aswell even with both top tiers shut. Owen Coyle looked a dick in shorts and socks.

The English language is owned by the English. There is no variation on it that is acceptable. American English is bizarre. This is the country that insists that's burglarized is a shorter version of burgled.

Here's hoping he gets better (one day after we play them anyway - not that he would make the difference if we turn up like we have been doing recently - but like the well known supermarket chain say, every little helps)

Thought we were terrific tonight really difficult sometimes when you are playing a side with no ambition of crossing the half way line.

Micah looked a beast down the right with Milner and then Navas. Though I think it Micah by surprise how fast he was.

Boyata looked re-assured considering the last two years and I think we can say he is a better vet than Garcia at CB. Garcia recovered from a poor first 7 means then looked something bordering on comfortable.

Jovetic and Lopes were both promising and Jovo took his goals well. That free kick from Yaya was terrific. I was sat down by the away dugout tonight and it was a great view. The highlight was the last 15 minutes of 'let's get Negredo a goal!'

MOTM by a country mile thought was Milner. Man was everywhere. Some great crosses with both feet and the left back had to be taken off!
