By the same token I doubt Boateng will enjoy Aguero running at him. As we all recall from his City days he's not the quickest.

I'd like to see the same XI as the derby, with the exception of Clichy coming in for Kolarov. As well as he's played in the last few games, we need as much pace as possible to cope with Robben/Ribery.

The cunt was quick enough to take both Silva's legs out from under him. Twice.

Let's hope the officials get this one right.

The Dutch hate the Germans as far as football is concerned, they are still sore about the defeat in the World Cup Finals of 1974

the side that strted the derby should be good enough. Slightly concerned that silva and clichy have played very little recently, we need to be right at them from the off.

I think the hatred stems from world war 2

Yes the war is part of it, but there is a specific desire for revenge for that football match. I was working with some Dutch lads during the last but one European Championship and if they mentioned it once they mentioned it a hundred times. Good lads but no sense of irony btw

I wonder of Pep will field Lahm as a DFM again with Martinez and Thiago injured and Schweinsteiger barely back.

We need clichy against Munich. Kolarov offers more forward but we need someone defending in this one, especially if nasti starts.

Yeah he seems happy slotting him in at that position at present and playing Rafinha right back.

Yes I agree with that and Zab's also needs to to stay back and defend on this occasion. Navas on the wing with balls into Negredo and Aguero just behind for charging at them through the middle fed by Silva?

Agreed. It has to be Clichy. We need as tight a back line as possible. Funny thing about Nastasic though, just when it seemed we had found an ace defender in him, he hit a slump, could it be that he's not as good as some once purported, or is it just a mo(joe) issue which he should get back again?

Kolarov and Zabaleta will need to be very disciplined and concentrate on defensive duties.Kolarov will be a major worry as he seemingly can't help but get forward and Bayern are just so so good on the counter attack. On the left Ribery will be dangerous as always.Zabaleta will have his work cut out dealing with him but i would actually be more concerned about the threat from Alaba when he gets forward.Lets hope he's on top form he will need to be at his brilliant best for this one.

Draw is also a result ... technically a loss is also a result ... a bad one, but a result ... Is your guttometer predicting a Win? Then it's ok, any other result is no good.

Btw, my guttometer is saying 2-1 worst case and possibly even a 3-1 is very much on!

I'd go for

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Lescott Clichy
Yaya Fernandinho
Milner Aguero Nasri
Dzeko/Negredo

I know we need Navas for crosses but I'm worried about Ribery down the left. Zaba goes forward alot and we need him to but Navas, despite his speed and that helping him get back, doesn't help out as much defensively as Milner. Unfortunately Milner had a poor game at Villa.

Think nasri has to keep his place even if merlin is fit, also agree that Joleon has to go back in and partner kompany! Take a bit of pressure of nasti, the boy will be world class but not yet, I want to see lescott and kompany back to their title winning season best! Also defo put panti in goal for this one, I would think joe's confidence is shattered, and we conceded 3 against villa with silly mistakes, even half silly mistakes are going to be punished with the likes of robben, ribery, manduzic etc causing havoc. Looking forward to this! Come on city!!

I don't get this logic of Zab 'staying back'. Him bombing on forward pushes their winger right back and presses them right up the pitch. If he stays back we'll invite them onto us.

I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm confident too. Just got to run at Boateng all day.

I'd agree with that. Kolarov has played ok lately but he's still weaker defensively than Clichy, and so Clichy should return to the starting 11.

Lescott should always start ahead of Nastasic for me. I've written plenty on why I don't believe Nastasic is good enough so don't need to go into that again.

Milner didn't have a great game against Villa, but he's superb more often than not. Plus he usually links up very well with Zab.

I'd play Negredo over Dzeko. We really need to get stuck into Bayern tonight and let them know they're in a game. Negredo will do that better than Dzeko.
