I agree & it's a real worry that our team folds like paper the second we go behind. Having a go the first 5 minutes in each half doesn't cut it. A two man midfield leaving a gaping hole in front of the back four, chasing ghosts, doesn't cut it. Playing a 4-4-2 v the European Champions managed by Guardiola doesn't cut it. Getting dicked around and still not changing anything at half time... Conceding two at the near post... Clichy, dear me...

Nothing beat CSKA and that is that .I just do not get Pelle why he do not adjust tactic when we play with strong team. And Hart is really our weekness but really.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Not saying it was right. But in his head he thought it was a way to win, very wrong, but that's what he decided.

Pissed off he didn't change it earlier, but the early goal gave them confidence.

We never really had a chance and it's one we have to take on the chin. Sadly.

Bob would go out with 4 5 1 for sure or even 5 4 1

Agreed. Something that should be taken into consideration is that English sides are tier two European clubs now. None of them could live with the top two German or Spanish sides. We maybe the best of a better than average bunch.

My two cents.....

Totally outclassed today. At one point the stats were similar to that of Celtic Barcelona and Celtic put up a better fight.

I can only assume that zabs was carrying a knock (I've not heard yet) because throwing a player in who has been out for months and only played against Wigan is less than naive... That's not even considering we were playing the current European champions.

We have seen even club make mistakes in the transfer market and I believe fernandinho to be one of them. Whilst he hasn't had time etc I've said from day one if this guy was world class he wouldn't have spent until he was 28 in Ukraine.

We face a very difficult task on Saturday. For me negrado and silva need to start against Everton. We only looked to compete when silva was there to pass the ball quickly 1 for the first time we were probing ( again this is easier when you are three nil down)

I thought that this was going to be dzeko big season, however once again he let us down up front. For 6ft odd in great strength. Excellent finish from the big man. Deserves a start.

It's not the result that gets me... It is the performance. At 3-0 down the players looked like they didn't give a shit. It could have been 6-0 and some of them would've shrugged them off.

Il sleep it off. Big game sat and we need to lift our game.

Could someone who can start a vote on whether it's acceptable to lose to bayern Munich at home? Yes no and don't know will do as options. Would be interested to know what people on here think.

Errrr, yes, or at least give it a shot. Here's the reality check, at home:

City v Bayern

34% Possession 66%
9 Shots 20
3 On goal 8

Its acceptable, best team in europe but I would have expected City to give a better account of themselves.

I'll do one if you want but without the loaded question.

What about 'Is it acceptable to lose to Bayern in the manner that we did?'?

Quite simply because you are implying that only one team has an affect. Is that what you want rather than saying they were actually playing against another team?

Yes we were outclassed, but it's not correct to say we were outclassed and that's it. There's way more to it, many problems.
Many other factors to consider, and many of them worrying.
Where does one start?

When it comes to bayern Munich it is sometimes irrelevant which team they are facing. I've read your posts during the evening and I know that your furious but sometimes that's the way it is.

I'm not sure you can say that with 100% certainty. Had a decent team set up with 5 in the middle of the pitch to negate them then who knows. We did make it very easy for them. Don't forget Arsenal beat them on their own pitch as recently as last season.

They had only conceded 2 goals in the CL in their last 8 games and one of them was in last years final.

At the end of the day we would prob expect Bayern to win the group so getting at least a draw next game At CSKA and then beating them at home is likely to get us through.

I don't like this putting all eggs in the CL basket as we've no real chance of winning it.
Rather we made PL the priority

Pretty much sums it up.

Couldn't understand the manager not changing anything at half time either, have yet to see Pellegrini make a game changing substitution for the better.

at 3 -0 down i feared a proper good hiding,3-1 flatters us tbh.
