We'll sweep aside Bayern no doubt about it. He will be the greatest thing since Jesus and sliced bread till we get a last minute defensive fuck up against Everton and spend next week completely dissatisfied!

Typical City lives on! ;-)

If that happened, none of us would be surprised.

should have been a simple Satisfied YES or No poll question and then we could see the weekly sway of everyone running from one side to the other every week.

Ironically Mancini is winning against Juve away right now.

It's not ironic mate, it's fucking obvious. The last 2 seasons were a nightmare against the clubs we played but if we'd invested this money (and the last) in players that we wanted, we'd have had a chance.

Started with the wrong formation and the wrong lineup, and was too slow to respond when it was obvious it wasn't working. I'm back down to dissatisfied.

I've gone down to the middle option, which I'm taking as "Jury is still out" ... we looked good when we switched to 451, and if he saw that and adapts in our upcoming games, I think it'll be the start of something good. As we've seen, the 442 that Pelle plays can be good at the right time, vs. scum for example. But you need to be able to mix it up, which is something that Mancini also did not do. Let's hope for some flexibility in our system.

He is without doubt making mistakes and learning harsh lessons . The Rag thrashing gave us all a clue to what we are capable of under Pellegrini .

Some would argue that the tonight, villa, stoke, hull and Cardiff would be a clearer indication.

Going 4-4-2 against Bayern was suicidal. Not changing the formation 20 mins in to rectify it when it was clear as day we were being overrun and couldn't get a foothold was derelict of duty.

Selecting Richards instead of Zabaleta, to play against Ribery, was plain folly as Richards was dry bummed all night.

Mr Pellegrini, 0 out of 10 this evening. Fookin piss poor.

Selecting Joe Hart was the key issue. I know that Pellers has been trying to instil more confidence in him but he wasn't the guy we needed in goal tonight. I think that the game would've been different if we'd been allowed time to settle in and get the measure of Bayern. Joe's howler on 7 minutes made a vast difference as it pulled us out of shape because the defence couldn't trust Hart to deal with anything so they stayed back and didn't have the confidence to push up and reinforce the midfield. That left the midfield overrun and that was the story of the night.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Will we give Pellers time to learn? On the one hand, he's an experienced coach, but on the other we all want stability and not another change in 9 months

Wasn't Pellegrini's fault tonight (one upfront much earlier might have been a good idea), but the players showed themselves in the same light as they did last season under a different manager. Thankfully BM are so superior to us it doesn't matter. But it will on Saturday....

Also, considering Bayern played the exact way Txiki is trying to build City as a club to play in the future, possibly under that very manager, I'd say that's close to the most off target attempt since Jason Lee.

The thing that really concerned me last night was Pellegrini inability to see what was happening in front of him. It was clear after 20 mins that we needed to change the formation. We were getting overrun in midfield and he did nothing. One of the forward should have come off, preferably Dzeko ( or at the very least dropped back) and Milner should have come on. We were crying out for more bodies in the middle. But we just ploughed on trying to make it work. Mancini certainly was not frightened to change things if it wasn't working.

Early days obviously, but the signs aren't good - 3 defeats in 7.
