I think some of us fail to recognise the sheer volume of work his role in the team requires. Plus, I don't think he's fully attuned to the way we play football in this country yet. Given time I think he'll be fantastic (he's already very good).

I thought yesterday was his best game for us,difference with him & Barry is his reading of the game so he's intercepting rather than harrying/tackling

I still don't think him as yaya are a good combo when we hadn't got the ball. Fanandildo will track back etc but yaya doesn't which means we got one midfielder only trying to defend properly which then all lies on the back 4. In the pl they will get through most games but in europe against better opposition we will look like mugs like we did against Munich. Fair enough they are probably best team in the world but they made it look easy.

However I like his movement and passing.

I thought he played very well yesterday. Mccarthy and barkley were evertons best players and he wrestled control of the midfield from them and made them look crap in the second half.

Hate to be negative after a really good game, but as a coach myself I found myself screaming don't dive in at the Telly all night. He must have attempted an unnecessary tackle and been beat a good 12 times. Poor technique.

The bloke is rank. I stand near the middle so had a damn good look. His ability to get a yard wrong side was Gelsonesque. When he did put a tackle in he was about as tough as Freddy Hill.His passing is substandard. He's not quick. A total non event. So that's £46 million on two no hoper midfielders to replace de Jong and now Barry. Neither complete footballers but both miles better than Dino and Garcia. But ofcourse, we don't make mistakes with our scouting anymore, we know everything about a player before we sign him. Really.All those who are criticising Ya Ya are missing the point. Course he's a lazy arrogant cunt. But he can do the impossible. The fucker next to him has to get into position and break up play, that is all. This bloke does neither well.

Did I say he was shit? No I just said he dives in way too much which is poor technique. If it doesn't get sorted and we insist on him playing as our protector at some point it will hurt us.

I also agree that he's doing more than his share of the work for those that have said. He doesn't pick the team tho, so again it will need addressing at some point I feel.

He was playing deep. Made a couple of excellent tackles/interceptions which otherwise would have led to us conceding and passed the ball about very well. I thought the Everton game was his best in a City shirt and really don't understand where all this criticism is coming from

He did manage to give the ball away in our own half and create a chance for the opponents for the second game running. That everton are nowhere near Bayern and were unable to take advantage is lucky for him. This has got to stop.

Fernandihno's new to the team, the team sets up differently and you know what it's centre mid that's more exposed under the new approach, so hardly surprising that of the newbies this guy's finding it tougher than the others. Negredo has a strike partner, Navas has been given a licence to attack down the right - it's what they do.

So cut him some slack I'm sure he'll come good.

Wenger has managed for more than one game I'd say. As has pardew and di canio.

Besides that your point is nail on head. To be honest, I knew he wasn't good enough when I saw his picture. It's never too early to form an opinion.
