Do you honestly believe what you've written about Richards and MJ though? Amongst City fans maybe there was that kind of hype but not anything like that in the general media.

The Walcott hype came with his price tag.

In regards the blue specs comment, I sometimes feel that people trying to be objective go too far the other way, I could be wrong it's just an impression I get on occasion.

Yes I do. It wasn't just our fans calling Johnson the next Colin Bell, it was all throughout the media. Likewise when Richards broke through.
It's not just young players either. Take Elano for example, he had a few good games for us early on and we were labelling him as 'world class', as were the media.

The list could go on but the point is, getting massively carried away isn't a Rag thing, it's a general football thing.
But it seems strange the amount on here who seem confident he won't make it. The reality is we have to wait and see and let him develop rather than speculating about whether he'll be the next Ronaldo or the next Michael Johnson. The Rags fans I've spoken to about it don't seem to be getting too carried away. They recognise he's a player with great potential but potential is all it is at the moment.

Can somebody tell me which World Class player he looks to be? Is he in the Zidane mould, Maradona, Messi, Ronaldo etc, which one is it?

Touche. I was being serious though ;-)

I keep hearing that he is this new 'Blah, blah, blah' but nobody seems to have a clue what sort of player he is. Let's bring it down to the basics, is he a forward mid, striker or one of a right/left attacking 3?

Come on Beefy, you know better than to ask a daft question like that. Being a product of the great manu youth academy and yet another Duncan Edwards he can play equally well in any position.

Despite who he plays for, I hate when these players look promising and are all of a sudden they are the next big thing. English players get labelled the saviour of English football and even when they end up as good players, they are considered a failure for not securing England the world cup single-handedly as a 19yo.

This, and - though I rarely agree with him - what Bridge'srightfoot said. My scummer mates aren't getting particularly carried away. It's as though it's a case of once bitten, twice scared after making such dicks of themselves over Macheda (I saw three grown men in my local with Macheda printed shirts on the week after that Villa match in which he scored the winner).

As for Januzaj himself, it's difficult to have anything against a young kid just trying to make his way in the game, and one who's never been publicly twattish towards City.

He can always turn to drug smuggling ;)

Nah, past his prime. 26 is middle-aged for an Albanian.

From the few times i've seen him and from Rag mates he's a tricky winger who can play either side but most importantly he's adept with either foot which is a big advantage imo.

Not so sure tbh. From the little I've seen he doesn't have the blistering pace of a Ronaldo. More jinky and nimble with the ball at his feet.
More in the Samir Nasri mould.
Will be interesting to see how the lad develops. As you said before, we all like to see good footballers, irrelevant of who they play for.

I don't like to see good footballers at the rags why would i. I can't believe City fans are so taken with the little rag twat.

What happens if the rumours come true and he walks over broken glass to arrive at our academy?
