Maybe him & his family were settled/happy & didnt want upheavel. Le tissier could have left southampton many times, but he loved it down there, he had his missus/mistress there too, his lifestyle was not on a par with what is expected from todays pro's either. The healthy living would have been a massive shock to his system. He did have it all though, exceptional player on his day.
