Unsure about Kolo. Though he's getting games for dippers its only by default. Once Agger/Skrtle are back he'll be a sub at best again. He may as well have stayed with us as move clubs.

Correct in that it'll be difficult to buy in Jan but don't see why we have to get someone in as a stop gap. Why not break bank to get Hummels or Mangala or any top centre half? Yes we'll pay more as its Jan & yes they'll likely be inelligible for Europe but so fucking what. We are loaded and we usually have to pay more because of who we are. Whats the alternative. Make do until summer when we'll sign same player for more money because of WorldCup

Well, if City break the bank and get the top Central defender, Vinnie won't get a game either.

Re buying a top class centre half. If he is right footed he will either replace Kompany completely or play second fiddle, which no top player will want for any money. If he is left footed he would replace Lescott/Nasty but wouldn't help when Kompany is injured unless he is equally comfortable both sides which few are, so I think we still have same problem.

I would like to see us bring in Matts Hummells. Quality cb and only in his early 20s.

so thats an easy one, we need to find someone who is comfortable on both sides and will be able to cover both positions. He will probably play more games than any of the 3 we have currently.

This shouldn't even be an issue. They should just play either side & fucking get used to it.

If we get a world class centre half why would he replace Vinny. Its a big fuckin myth you need a left & right footer. You're surely not saying you cant have 2 right footed, or left for that matter. Hummels for the sake if argument could slot alongside Vinny no probs. We are talking footballers at the top of the tree. They can adapt

Considering what their job is why do they needed a left and right footed cb together, it seems more trouble than it's worth. Our defence worries is pissing me off, assuming Kompany isn't fit our defence is poor. Nasti isn't up to it and lescott plays second fiddle to him, garica is a joke yet get to start there. It is seriously holding us back. Kompany and lescott were great when we won the league yet mancini fucked with that and since then it's been ruined.

I don't get it either, is this a new thing? Left sided/right sided centre back my arse, it's the same bloody position!

Very few lefties ( spawn of satan ) are comfortable on the right side of defence. I'll let Joleon explain why,

“I don’t know why the manager doesn’t like to have two left-footed centre-halves together, but it is something he has mentioned.” Lescott said. “I am sure, though, that if Matija and I had to play together, there wouldn’t be any hesitation from either of us to play on the right side.

“Saying that, I’ve never played there. There were never many left-sided centre-halves when I was growing up, so I have always played on the left of the defence. There are plenty of right-footed players who have played on the left, though, so if I ever had to do it, I am sure it wouldn’t be a problem and I could adapt to it pretty easily.”

I didn't write anything about the things you put in your response.

I wrote quite simply , if we buy the best centre back Vinnie will not play. Nasti will though.imho.

Edit.

The only advantage a right footed player has is perhaps better control on the right side of the pitch when the tight situation requires it.Close to the touchline.

In the centre if the pitch it has no effect.

Sorry. I must be really thick. I still dont understand why if we've bought the best centre half in the world, Vinny would not get a game but Nastastic would. Are you implying Nasty is better than vinny?

I am not implying anything of the sort . Not at all, i am writing that Nasti is a better defender than Vince . Imho, much better.

Vince is a great Captain and there is our problem.

Ok. Fair comment if Nasty is better in your opinion. Cant argue with that. If however then we sign a top notch centre half who is better than both Vinny & Nasty and he dislodges Vinny is that a bad thing?

Of course not, this is what it's all about, getting the right mix for every game . We are privileged to have a great squad and team after so many years in the Doldrums.
