Fernandihno's new to the team, the team sets up differently and you know what it's centre mid that's more exposed under the new approach, so hardly surprising that of the newbies this guy's finding it tougher than the others. Negredo has a strike partner, Navas has been given a licence to attack down the right - it's what they do. So cut him some slack I'm sure he'll come good.
Here managers get sacked after 5 games (Di Canio this season), others come under pressure in 6 games into the season (Padrew, Jol) ... hell Arse were calling for Wenger's head after game 1 ... so why can't we as fans judge a player after 12 games? I haven't asked for Fernandhino's head (just to clarify), am just questioning the premise that oh it's only been 12 games ... how many is enough? 12 games or 12 seasons? Hell for someone even 12 mins of game might be enough to form an opinion ... everyone's entitled to theirs, and that includes how long they take forming that. In your eyes they might be hasty, but similarly in their eyes you might be the one who can't make up his mind ...

That's a little unfair mate. I was very much against the way Blue's were bigging him up in the early stages just so they could put across that he was a good signing.

In the light of day, Fernando was a lot of money for an aging player, similar to that that was aimed against the Rags with Van Pussy. He wasn't has good as we all thoguht he could be at first but gradually grew into the shoes that we all wanted him to.
Early in his time I said that he was being played in the wrong role as he always wanted to get forward and now he has proved that he is an intelligent player who will work out when to twist or stick. Whether I'm right or wrong doesn't matter but what has to be accepted is that he's doing a job for us that has seen him score 2 goals for us today.
He isn't a Gareth Barry and definately not a Nigel De Jong, but what he is, is a Man City player who is now proving his worth, even if it turned out to be just one season.
Fernando knows the score, he has to perform, and he is getting it just at the right time.

Well you could say maybe, perhaps, but equally you could argue it's a fair comment. The point was that the poster in question was suggesting that managers get sacked after 6 games so it was fair to judge a player after 12 games.
I think for anyone to expect a new player to fit into a team playing a new style of play under a new manager to hit the ground running after just 12 games is unreasonable irrespective of the price tag. So by the same token asking him now, a couple of months on if he wants to reassess the situation shouldn't be seen as unfair. His question was how many games is enough to evaluate a player?
I would suggest that in this example that 12 games was too early in his City career to draw conclusions on.
There were other posters on the thread who were much more scathing and willing to right him of it's true to say, but I've referred to the poster who responded to my post that appealed for people to' cut him some slack' stating 'I'm sure he'll come good'

I read ''No disrespect' and seen that you've quoted a single line of my text.
I'll leave it there.

Simple thing to say with hindsight and we're all guilty of it, especially those that haven't seen much of the Ukrainian league.
The Newcastle home game at the start of the season was probably just too easy too, he looked awesome in that game and so did Navas but then both started to struggle as we came against stronger teams - only to be expected but the first performance was so good it set them on a bit of a pedestal that wasn't a true reflection of their adaption to the premier league, and with Ferdi a slightly different role.
Now they're both getting the swing of things and looking brilliant.
No worries, didn't spot the haloBreks wrote: I'm not guilty of it. I always give new players and managers time.
