I just watched the Chelsea goal again and I would have to say that it's 50/50 in the guilt question. Nastasic should have dealt with the ball much sooner. He also looked back before making the header and must have (should have) seen Hart running out. In my humble opinion you simply never play it back to the keeper without first making sure he is prepared for it.

Sometimes a player just runs his course at a club and its best for all concerned for him to move on. Sincerely hope this is not case with Hart and hope he recovers his mojo. He has earned the right to be afforded a bit of time to do this. If he doesnt then it is bye bye & thank you and wish you all the best

Here's my thoughts about where Joe stands right now,for what they are worth. It's a personal opinion so won't suit everyone, but I've tried to balance the good and not so good.

. 1. Joe is potentially a really great shot-stopper; that should be clear if only from the performance against Dortmund and Lewandowski's comments before the international. During the title winning season and at times last season that potential was realised and saved us many goals. Added to the strong defence in front if him, it led to the golden gloves.

2. Joe is still relatively young for a keeper and even in his good seasons it was clear he was still developing his judgement, for example coming for crosses, controlling his area away from his line. This led to a few hairy moments but by Nd large not many goals, perhaps due to the work of the rest of the defence.

3. In those good performances it was also clear he had some real weak pints, such as his kicking when he wasn't aiming straight down the pitch. When he was saving a probable goal every other game, a couple if throw ins near the half way line wasn't too drastic, but as the rest of the defence became more fallible then it means we are not relieving the pressure.

4. This season he is still capable of making good saves, but the fallibility if the defence, plus more inconsistent form, means he has a higher ratio if errors and still has the underlying weaknesses which are exposed more often.

5. IMO he is still learning and we should not sell him in January as some have said. We should though take him out of the firing line for a few weeks to work on his technique and refocus. Pantilimon may not be better but us unlikely to be worse on aggregate for a few games and we should then have a better idea of whether he can offer long term competition for Joe or whether we need to buy a top class keeper alongside (not instead of) Hart. Two players for every position!

Sorry for the long post.

Bit of good news for Hart. If he makes it to the world cup he needn't worry about the outbreak of malaria. Doctors have said there's fuck all chance of him catching anything....

rag mate sent me this.

joe hart bloopers

some of his biggest howlers involve him coming off his line or out of his area unnecessary trying to save the day.

Any other teams goalie and we'd be well taking the piss. Some right howlers on there. Doubt Coton made that many in 10 years

Fuck perspective , HART has to be dropped as hes been fuckign dire for over 18 month now and hes getting worse, Panti will come in for him and unless he fucks up as well then Hart will be on the bench for the foreseeable.
I can see us getting in a replacement in January (Regardless of Panti taking over or Hart being reinstated) he will not settle for a number 2 spot so he will be sold.

Harts attitude is whats wrong , hes a cocky cunt who wants more limelight on tv or the like...thats his downfall imo.

So fuck him.

Interesting; I suppose that's a charge that could be levelled at players such as Tranaldo, Ibrahimovic et al.......

However, I don't think many people are saying Hart shouldn't be dropped, indeed this poll bears that out, but the post from Hutch's Shoulder offered a cool-headed and measured perspective rather than any understandable knee-jerk reaction to Hart's current failures.

If Joe Hart still retains, intrinsically, those abilities which made him a fine goalkeeper two years ago, then it's surely worthwhile, for City's financial future if for nothing else, to work with him on the training pitch to try and eradicate his current shortcomings and to give him the chance to re-establish himself.

After all, I remember, albeit many years ago, City had prolonged problems with Joe Corrigan but the Club stuck by him and he eventually turned out to be a great goalkeeper.

Mind you, it's just a great pity we'll never have/find another like Bert Trautmann. Even in the wildest of imaginations, Joe Hart is certainly not of that calibre.

Being cocky and performing as a world class player on a week to week basis is acceptable which those 2 players virtually do every game they play in, Hart is nowhere near world class and his performances have been average to shit for too long now , he was bigged up by the press as one of the best in the world , utter tosh.

What I am saying is that he will not accept being on the bench for too long, if at all, and so we will have no option but to sell him imo.

He deserves the bench now. It has to happen not only for us to assess the team without him, but also to assess him being out of the team.

What some people are forgetting is that at 26, most goalkeepers would only be realising their true ability and attitude and breaking into top teams. A stint on the sidelines will do him no harm and if he's not willing to fight for it, then he will never establish himself, either with us or another top team.

Sell him if he insists on it. And only if he insists on it imo.

The simple question is who is the best keeper? There are quite a few better than Joe at the moment but Costel is not one of them.

Hope this whole goalkeeping fiasco doesn't drag on for months. The sooner joe cops on and gets the shoulder to the wheel, the better all round.

He cancelled a charity round of golf that he was due to play on Wednesday to stay behind at Carrington and do extra work with the coaches.
