Lescott has been absolutely superb. On the ground, in the air, anticipating, goal line clearances. What more does he have to do?

How i hate when we drop back on lead.
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Usually he's excellent on the wing though. To paraphrase, anyone can have one BAD game.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

considering how little football he's played this season too, very impressive.

Lescott over Nastasic, Milner centrally and Pantilimon in goal going forward. Pity they've all played 120 minutes.

Ditto.

You know when you watch games like this and there's usually loads of reserve players and 2/3 current first team starters in just to steady the ship? And as a result of form/being better players those 2 or 3 players look a little better...well Joleon's looked like one of those all night. Same with Negredo. JL looks like he's the experienced leader, the reliable one, cos he is really.

Lescott is an excellent natural defender and a great foil for VK. Still upsets me that he isn't first choice.

And the same thing goes for Dzeko. Finally woke up but now he has 120 minutes of football in his legs.

You're right. I think his biggest problem in the first half was that he didn't have anyone to link up with.
