Let's be honest. Being Englands No 1 (and supposedly City's) does automatically mean you are good. It means you are the best available, although I have disputed that with Pants being better for some time. I admire the goalkeeping position as every mistake is analysed to the nth degree and those donning the jersey accept that.

Pellers has got a 5 year 5 trophy target or he will be dropped. Allowing hart to continue will compromise his raison detre at the club
Sell Hart this winter and let someone else worry about the politics of keeping the England manager sweet

Being England's number one just shows you how shallow the talent pool is in that area.

Is it any wonder?

Who'd want to be an English goalkeeper?

Fuck woy and bollocks to the England team. City is what is really important, and joe is costing us matches so fuck him off and get Panti in the team. Most people defending Joe publicly are not City fans so it doesn't matter to them beause he's not costing their team points.

Just read that City are considering a move for the Celtic keeper in Jan. I have a horrible feeling that any signing will mean the exist for pants as clearly they are looking for competition for hart. I like Pants and think he would be a safer pair of hands going fwd.

Whats the view amongst the forum - if we do bring in a quality keeper who would / should leave?

Im a big Hart fan, but we need to stop being scared of him handing in a transfer request or leaving. He needs to be on the bench for saturdays game or he will never be dropped and the complacency will continue. If he seriously wants to leave because we drop him then he is not the type of player we want at this club, no other club in the PL would give him as much loyalty as City have.

I'm not sure I buy into this 'complacency' thing.

He didn't look complacent to me when he came charging out of his 6 yard box, more like someone who has lost his head.

A break may do him a lot of good.

Now is the time to drop Hart and put Panti in. Bollocks to all the media outlets crying about this possibly being bad for Hart and bad for England or whatever. Hart had enough chances and he needs a break and some serious pressure.

Tbh Joe doesn't strike me as the sort of character whose confidence will be permanently shattered by being rested, more likely he will be motivated to bounce back. So I don't see that as an argument for trying to play through this patch any longer.

Hart will likely be our keeper for the long run, but .... Pellegrini was keen to stress that the team will be selected "on merit."

With Hart's many blunders this season, and Pantilimon's decent showing on Wednesday it has to be Costel selected on Saturday, on merit. Joe went through his last chance and got the nod against Everton, but has since dropped another huge bollock. For balance Id also keep Nastasic out tomorrow too as he's been Pony for large parts of this season.

Select Costel tomorrow and see how it goes. Against Norwich at home if we don't have the ball all day, then something is wrong.

Never have bought into the complacency theory. He's just making poor decisions and every time it's costing us dearly.Personally I would play Costel but I expect Pellegrini will play Hart

The telegraph says:

"Telegraph Sport understands Hart has today been told he will be left out of the team to face Norwich in favour of Costel Pantilimon." Earlier, City manager Manuel Pellegrini, when asked if Hart would play against Norwich, said: "Tomorrow you will know the answer."

Joe was an ever present in my FL team for the last 3 seasons. Now, I've dropped him and I hope Pellers will do the same. For me, his blunder at Stamford Bridge is unforgivable and just for that he needs to warm the bench for a few matches, I think it will do him a lot of good and as he is still young he will come back stronger and better.
As for Panti, I've always been impressed by him and his performance against Newcastle just added to my confidence in him. As others have said, he looks very confident and towering which in itself intimidates strikers. I also very much like his hand distributions and his insistence on starting the attack from defence instead of just hoofing the ball up field like Joe does.

Guardian reporting hart has been dropped as well. Says was training with the first team but pelligrini wont publicly say anything yet.

BBC reporting as fact now, although I don't think anyone at City has confirmed. If true, I bet np other player selection will get as much coverage this weekend.
