Was just thinking that. Very physical, great man-marker, and has played quite well whenever given a chance; just what we need. Doesn't have to be great on the ball, just pass to Yaya or fernand 5 yards away. Mystifying....

He certainly did himself no harm during the week.I would say playing the full 120 mins has counted against him starting today.

thank god he has done that re Lemons.....it was a scandal what Mancini did re the FA Cup final. Costel more than deserves a shot in the first team after the last half year or so that Hart has had.

So, Joe either gave the stories to the media or at very least, one of his confidant's. I was wondering where those leaks came from before and after the FA Cup game and now my suspicions are raised further.

Come on blues! We can cancel the 3 points we lost to Chelski last week with a win today. They're being beaten by the geordies!

Bullshit. He's been replaced by someone worse. Lescott can look forward to league cup games I guess .

He is the only CB we have ffs, even vinny needs someone like lescott behind him. It is a no brainer.

All this crap about the "new footballing centre half" is absolute shite and just leaves you open to conceding stupid goals when they get caught in possession. It might work in Spain but in a proper league you just get bummed.

Continental Bollocks and it needs to stop.

I'd prefer Lescott in there but after his 120 mins on Wednesday it's understandable why he's not playing. This is Norwich as well remember.

considering how lescott does not get games anyway, even if he didn't play 120 mins, he would not start unless world number one defender was injured.
Still here.

No Garcia, no Hart, now who does Lescott have to suck off to get in the starting lineup?

Well it would appear the only logical reason he has been left out.

Maybe Joleon's bring saved for Tuesday.

Just finishing my drink at the stadium before going to my seat, where I will lose the signal no doubt.

Everyone seems very positive. I'm looking for a minimum two goal lead at half time.

Well, tootling off to the bar for some big screen action. Enjoy the game boys and girls and let's hope we can push our goal difference through the roof.

PS. Just a small shout for the Fulham lads, hope their fans have an equally good day ;-)

I think so too, the combination of extra time on Weds plus the importance of the match on Tues means Lescott sits this one out. Pellegrini is no fool so he will have seen how well he played on Weds.

We need a win for last season, but I'll take a 1-0 win and everyone else drawing this weekend.
