Its a given Tyler is a rag in a poor disguise. Tyldesley is not much better.
Who are folks favourite commentators past or present?

Always liked Barry Davies myself

"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Definitely. Gerald Sindstadt was a favourite of mine too. Tony Gubba was nicely understated.

I don't think that was me or I lied. I'd love to watch a game with him though.

We've got a guy out here named Simon HIll who does our local games. He's a manc, he was there when we won the FA Cup. He leaves you in no doubt as to who he supports but he maintains the impartiality we expect. In short, he's class.

When it comes to the prem, despite OD's hang ups about the guy my fave is Martin Tyler.

Matt Smith - don't mind him even those he's a red scouser - once suggested in an interview that London based Un*t*d fans should be put in Room 101 and pretty much admitted that Clive Tyldsley was a closet rag. Mind I accept he's more of a studio anchor man.

I don't actually mind Robbie Savage for punditry on the radio usually fair when talking about City, has an opinion and not afraid to talk about it, helped more when Mancini was at the club. That's more of a pundit though.

Pushed for a commentator as a stats person myself it would have been Motty in his prime, not now though should pension him off.
