Champions League Other Games

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Nov 06, 2013 7:54 pm

We're through (the first) but will any of the others?

Chelsea v Schalke
Dortmund v Arsenal

Any others of interest?

Didn't see the game but on paper that's an outstanding result for Arsenal and one which will further add to their confidence.
Really not sure what I want from their game v the Rags.
Can never will them to win and love when they lose but don't want Arsenal to go to far ahead.

Dortmund are great athletes but only quite good footballers imo. And their centre backs, like Bayern's, are protected by the athleticism & organisation of the players in front of them.

When the centre backs come under fire, they are shit.

A couple off lads i know took a hiding backing a Dortmund home win.One lad had 2 ton on Dortmund.

tbh i never expected that.Home win looked odds on and was reflected in the odds.

Only one english player in arsenals starting eleven. Barring poor form we would have had the same quota last night. A non story..but its us..so it isnt.

i dont know if this will go any way towards helping change your mind (probably not) but they did play without Hummels, a playmaker from the center of defense, and have been playing without Pizszcek and Gundogan, one of their best players and most inventive.

No not for me. Hummels has been a David Luis type character imo but as Bayern hage shown with Boateng etc, you can carry defensive type players if you have the workrate & organisation in front of them. I think the team ethic of Bayern & Dortmund is setting a new level but I think we have better players than both.

If the Count is top class, imo we should be way ahead of Dortmund within a season or two & close to Bayern. We shouldn't have been so far off Dortmund last season; we were shit. Arsenal much better in both games with inferior players.
