How did you find it?

Got to be honest I struggled with that one.

Trouble with it for most people is that it tries to explain the Dutch way of playing football by looking at the Dutch as a people rather than just looking at the football side of things, which it also does as you know. I loved it as I grew up on the 1970s Dutch team and the football that they played and so found it insightful in many different ways. But you're right, it's not for everyone.

I liked some of it but didnt get through it all and agree its not a conventional football book, which is not a criticism but I can understand Lees take on it...I also struggled with Rinus Michels' book "teambuilding" , which was translated from dutch and left me wondering if this simple game we love is so simple after all...I bet Shhteves got a copy...

I was born in 84, so that might be part of it, but I mostly thought it just stretched for
Connections too often and went off on a few weird tangents. I finished it as I can't leave a book undone, but for all my anticipation it wasnt a cant put down kind of read that I expected.

Also forgt to mention but Robbie savages one is worth a read as well. Interesting and down to earth.
