Have you ever thought that fans of every club think that the refs are unfair to them?

Yes I have thought of that.

But we've seen the stats to back it up now haven't we.

I've said it before mate. I saw enough in our title winning season alone to know... To "KNOW" that all is not right with the overall leaning of the officials. There is/was a need to stop the evil money machine from taking the beauty and unpredictability from the game.

We were fed how money does not bring success from every single quarter imaginable, whilst constantly being reminded of how the rags always prevail in the face of adversity.

We would have won the league by about 12 to 15 points had officials been fair to both teams.

But that would have hurt too many high powered people.

So you can search for all the other reasons we were getting hammered by officials, but after I encounter an amazing set of coincidences, I tend to see patterns.

I am not doubting that at all, i'm simply baffled where the reference came from.Perhaps if punctuated differently. I can see that the reference could be open to misinterpretation and it is just a general comment about scoring on the counter attack. Which as you have pointed out , we do.

Prob one of the best counter attacking goals this season was the 2nd v Newcastle in the home game (4-0) where Vinny picked it up at the edge of our area and belted up the pitch and aguero bagged

Did i really write that ? Haven't scored a goal from counter attacking play ?

No you didn't write that.

It's one of the 'interesting stats' that we haven't scored from a single counter attack. (Fuck knows what their criteria are, but I can't remember what happened yesterday, let alone how we scored vs x team)

The point I was making is that fussy referees in midfield destroy a team's ability to attack quickly on the counter.

As do I.

Apologies for thinking you had said that zuricity. Whoever said it missed Nasri's against the munes as well.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Whether we score 1 or 10 on the counter, it will be less compared to teams who sit back. If you press in the oppo's half & dominate possession how can it be possible to counter attack often ?

Arsenal actually sat back & hit us on the counter pre season, rags tried to, Chelsea did. It could soon be the case that no Prem teams will try to go toe to toe with us re possession. Therefore counters will only happen if we get well in front & if those teams continue to try & win rather than limit damage.

I disagree. There will be plenty of opportunities through a season where at 1.0 down with 15 to go, a team wants to push perhaps for a draw late on, which opens up the chance for counters.

We do definitely play too high up the pitch for my liking, but there probably is really nothing we can do about that if teams want to go compact and take their chances at 'rope a dope' with us.

But over 38 games plenty of chances will arise simply by virtue of our ability, it feels like lots of them chances are snuffed out in midfield by the referee though - lots of unremarkable decisions when viewed without context. That's how they get away with it

If we go 1-0 up with 15 to go, then we get, at best, 15 mins to take advantage of a counter, as opposed to the 75 mins the oppo has had to counter us in the same game. And some teams will actually keep it tight and only come out for the last 10-15 even if they are 1 down after 10 mins. We have seen that many times already.
