I think Sergio is benefiting greatly from playing alongside Negredo - a proper No. 9 in all aspects.

With this type of support, the sky's the limit for our little Argentinian maestro.

We play with a front two and they both deserve the credit for the goals. Aguero is getting most of them, but Negredo often has a helping hand and the turn and finish for the 5th yesterday was sublime

Shearer said last night that they are probably the most lethal pairing in world football and, for once, I'm inclined to agree with him. I also quite like Football 365's Aguedo moniker for them.

I know this is a thread about Sergio, so apologies for deviating a little, but how good is Negredo ??

To me, he seems to be the all-round centre-forward we've waited for and needed, for such a long, long time.

His partnership with Sergio is almost frightening, when you consider what they could both deliver in the next few years. Long may it continue to prosper.

With Negredo being 28yo you would expect he has at least 4 years in him at the top. But being his game is about strength and skill(and not speed), I think he'll be one of those players who can stay at the top well into his mid 30's.

Aguero at 25yo could be the best striker the club has ever seen. Depending on how long he stays, I wonder how long before he breaks Brook's record. 114 more to go.

Either him or Tevez, who could've been a club legend instead of a moaning whining child.

I agree, but in fairness, there hasn't been a lot of competition in the time I've been watching. The likes of Goater may be a real hero to the fans and was a major player for us at the time, but he's not in the same league as Aguero. Fat Bob Taylor?

My dad is currently sticking by Law in his first spell, although if Aguero keeps on scoring, I think even he may be persuaded.

Tevez was excellent for us, probably 2nd best striker i have seen at the club. Rosler and Goater have been favourites of mine. However in terms of ability neither of them are close to Serg or Carlos.

He's better presently than Tevez was at his best for us. In my opinion.

Really torn between the two. Most people assume they are the same type of player simply because they're both small Argentinian strikers but they were quite different in some aspects.

Aguero's the more clinical in front of goal whereas Tevez was better playing a little bit deeper and controlling a game.
Tevez's best form imo came in the second half of his debut season in which he often single handedly won us points and carried the side. He also did it without the likes of Silva and Toure.
Mind you Tevez always did seem a player who shines when he's the star man and everything goes through him like he did at West Ham and in his early days with us, whereas Aguero is a magnificent cog in our strike force who shines in a brilliant side.

Both are two of the best strikers I've ever seen anywhere and honestly couldn't pick between them.

One was a cunt and one is a legend. Kinda makes it easier for me to choose between them. Also Aguero is better.

I preferred Anelka to Tevez but Kun in his current form is a class above.

Argentina to win the world cup with Kun getting the golden boot.

If that happens and we go far in this years Champions League he will be in with a shout of it next year

It would be hard not to go for Aguero but a lot of that is down to the fact he's been far less of a cunt than Tevez. But looking at it purely objectively in terms of performance on the pitch it's a really difficult choice.
As I said, Aguero's the more gifted but Tevez at his best could influence a game more.

Tbh we're just bloody lucky to have had players of that quality at the club, given how about 7 years ago we were excited by the prospect of Mido.

Tevez seems to have settled quite quick into Juve, scored 6 from 11 appearances so far

No matter how good he is and he is on fire now (hope this form continues), he will never be considered unless he wins something big like the Champs League or maybe the WC in Brazil ?
