Next: Viktoria Plzen (Home) - Champions League

Manchester City v Viktoria Plzen
Etihad Stadium, City of Manchester

Wednesday 27 November 2013
Kickoff: 7:45PM

----

Given that we have already qualified, would you like a second string team out for this one? I personally would not touch the winning combination and unleash the same guys that started last night out on the Czechs and score another 5+ goals at home ...

But given that Pelligrini has already said Hart will be in goal, I guess that's second stringers coming out then eh ... oh, and Yaya can do with some rest.

Hart
Richards - Demi - Lescott - Kola
Rodwell - Garcia
Milner - Nasri
Dzeko - Guidetti

My prediction (if above lineup): City 3 - 1 Plzen
(but if same starting XI as against Spuds): City 8 - 0 Plzen

hope pelle treats this like a friendly. we've little to no chance of catching bayern, so let's not risk injury to our starters.

Hart, Richards, Kolarov, Milner, Rodwell, Dzeko & Guidetti should all see time on the pitch in this one.

A win helps the uefa coefficient though in terms of the group we cant drop lower than 2nd and cant finish top unless we go to The Allianz and win 3 nowt! In essence this tie is a free swing of the bat.

The sad thing is the clubs decision to charge £33 and upwards for it means there will be a plethora of empty seats all over the place.

I wouldnt want anyone who started yesterday to start in this game, not sure who is close to coming back from injury either?
Silva?
Kompany?
Jovetic?

We have every chance of topping the group ... all CSKA needs to get is a draw against them at home and then we won't have to worry about any goal difference I guess?

Fırat Aydinus (from Turkey) has been appointed referee by UEFA for this game!

how likely is cska to get a draw?? how likely are we to win at the allianz?? foolish to risk injury for the sake of a 1 in 100 shot of going top.

I'll have a look at the Plzen forums to see what they're saying.

We will still have to win in munich, but a 1-0 would be enough (if they drop points in moscow and we beat plzen)

I can see where you're at and I'm with you all the way AG7 except with the Nasri being a 2nd stringer bit - he's been fuckin' phenomenal all season and is a truly deserving 1st stringer on current form.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Goal difference doesn't come into the equation unless we beat Munich 3-1 at their place.

A game we should and need to win. Winning is a habit and breeds good habits. Also each win improves standing, co-efficient and revenue.

Not the time to make wholesale changes. By all means rest YaYa, Aguero and one or two others but we should approach the game in a manner as if we need a result imo

I didn't mean to call Nasri a second stringer ... it's just that with Jovetic still injured, and Silva out too, who'd you play there? All other positions you can replace but the creative midfield perhaps we are not that overloaded squad wise ...
