Why? If they draw at Moscow and we win, we go within a point of them ... then even a 1-0 win for us (in our last game against them) will take us top the group ...

Something we should target ... given do you want to be drawn against Barca, Real Madrid, PSG in the very next stage itself or rather play Olympiakos, Zenit St Petersburgh or someone like that?

Anyway, given Beyern play CSKA a few hours before us, we should know before kickoff where we stand anyway!

If we're not gonna give some of the youngsters a go in this game I don't think we ever will tbh. Perfect opportunity. Almost like a friendly match.

No, it's just a news ... I normally put ref appointments at the start of these Next threads but given PL games gets referees announced a week in advance, it's possible for them but for the CL games the ref allocation comes much closer to the games itself so it's always a late addition in the thread somewhere ...

If anyone's interested, Clattenburg will ref us against Swans and Foy for the WBA game away.

with Silva injured and Nasri our only "replacement" I hope he doesnt play and I hope Aguero is rested and not risked.
Yaya could do with a rest as well.

I was referring to the scenario where goal difference comes into play, nothing else. If it's a case of us finishing level the first criteria for who finishes top is our head to head record, if we still can't be seperated after that ( which will only be the case with a 3-1 win for us ) then goal difference comes into play.

I wouldnt want anyone who started yesterday to start in this game, not sure who is close to coming back from injury either?
Silva?
Kompany?
Jovetic?

I forgot about Boyata, be good to see him given a start alongside Lescott, who hopefully will be a calming influence. Not sure about Garcia, if I'm honest I dont want to see him in a City shirt. He is garbage! Navas hasnt had much game time, so I'd start him and play Milner in the middle with Rodders

I doubt there is a chance in hell that Pellegrini will played an almost complete 2nd string side.He will definitely want to make sure he wins this one and will play plenty of strength to make sure we do imo.

You get two UEFA ranking points for winning a group game in the Champions League. We need to get all the points we can to climb into pot 2, then pot 1. Full strength team for me then substitute any players who might need a rest.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

I'm sure we should be giving that Kompany fella a game. Looking sharp in training apparently, so surely this is then ideal one?

Navas can play as he hasn't played a lot.

Is Rodwell fit for selection? I'm not too sure.

He picked up an injury in training last week.Didn't look too serious but with Rodwell it's usually a few weeks

We should be able to win this game fielding the stiffs.

With so many games coming up, Aguero, Ya Ya, Negredo and Nasri should be rested tomorrow. Sit them on the bench to come on if required.

We have to look to try and top the group no doubt about that. Just cos we go beat by Bayern doesn't mean we can't go there and have a go. Lets see how it stands after Wed. City should not be frightened of Bayern, so we need a good result tomorrow to put us in with a chance.
