I Am Glad I Stayed To The End

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Everyone on here moans about this all the time. Everyone is super passionate about how annoying it is and would surely say something if they saw someone leaving early. People will even moan on here at me for leaving early.

Yet when i leave around the 87th minute, of most games, no one ever seems to have anything to say to me about it. Not a single person has ever said anything about it to my face. Not even a snidey comment after I have walked past. When I used to sit in 110 no one ever said anything. Now I'm in the family stand no one says anything.

Plenty of people have commented on it, plenty of times where I sit
but there isn't really much point getting on people's backs, they are hardly goibg to change their minds. Usually we just occasionally wave goodbye & make the odd light hearted comment.

If they don't give a fuck what the players think about them not beibg arsed to stay & clap after scoring six, they are hardly going to worry what fans think. No point causing a row in the ground about it.

Agree ^

To be honest too they've fucking paid entry and it's their decision if they wanna leave early or not. Personally i'd never do it myself as i find it odd but it's not my decision to make someone else's choice for them.

Why should they say anything, nearly every City fan I know is *respectful of others and will hold their Blue council. Just because some cock wants to leave early doesn't mean it warrants them giving abuse at the ground. They're better than that.

*Respectful, unlike the arsehole who doesn't give a fuck about anybody else.

To understand why no one says anything to you think of this:

-----------------
You often go to a dinner parties at a friend's house and 95% of the people show up on-time and stay til the end. One couple always seems to show up about 1/2 hour late (and no - they're not African), stays for the main course, then heads out before they serve dessert. Every time.

Do you say anything to them? No. Everyone else is enjoying themselves, why ruin the fun because of a pair of cunts. Just ignore them and your friend will eventually stop inviting them.
-----------------

Why do you leave early for most games? Do you have something better to do? Or does watching City play beautiful football just not entertain you?

Same here. Rarely left early myself before I moved but never gave a shit about what other people did. they've paid for their ticket, they can come and go when they please.

It's a lot more tempting to stay to the end now because we win the huge majority of time and often want to clap the team off at home but I wonder how many of those giving stick, stayed to the end of every game in the Pearce era, when we were 2 or 3 down to the likes of Blackburn, Reading and Bolton etc after seeing a truly dismal performance.

Don't know. I just added that in because Africans are usually a bit more flexible with start times for parties and get togethers. That said, they normally don't leave early. Their parties usually go much later and longer than white folk. Stereotype, sure, but if any of you have African friends you know what I'm talking about.

But Ashton, if the main reason that you leave early is because of traffic or drink; just take a flask or watch the game at home/local pub. Get as pissed as you want and leave when you want. Don't walk out on your team before the end, make City's support look like shit, and get in everyone's view while doing so. If you only care about yourself, watch the game on your own.

I truly, from the bottom of my heart, wish they did stop people like you from going. Or at least charge or an extra fee for being a selfish twat.

Oh fuck off. Just because you pay for a ticket, it doesn't mean that it is acceptable to act like a bellend if you want. You pay for a ticket, you are entitled to watch a football game. Nothing more. You do not purchase any privileges or rights along with it.

Common courtesy and respect for MCFC make it a cunt move to leave before the end.

Just because you purchase tickets to Broadway, can you leave before the end? Yes if there is an emergency or it's the first time you've been and are bored to death. But to go and leave early every time is disrespectful to everyone else in the audience and those working hard to entertain you. It's a cunt move end of.

Did you see Aguero score against QPR the season before last?

I did because I stayed to the end.

It was fucking amazing. I am glad I witnessed it and will never forget it. Never.

So, when I see idiots leaving before the end, I tend to just smile smugly to myself.

How do you not understand the African bit? Thick as fuck.

Very, very weak excuse and blaming it on your kid is poor form.

Your kid should learn that a proper fan stays til the end, and part of being a proper fan is dealing with the commute after. If the kid complains, tell him to stop being so spoiled, you bought the tickets and took him to a City game. He should be grateful. Unless your kid is disabled, then I'm sorry.

I don't understand why me being African has anything to do with this. Is it the fact that I'm African or that I'm black?

You being African has nothing to do with it.

I brought it up in my example to rule out the excuse that the person is always late because they are on "African Time" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_time

I never even knew you were African. This should be obvious to anyone with 1/2 a brain.

Ashton proving yet again that he's a dick. How does having a kid give you an excuse to leave early?

Simple solution. Knock down the carparks. Incorporate public transport with the price of the tickets. Free travel to and from games. Public transport doesn't leave until the game ends. No point leaving early. Sorted.

Yes yes, I know you've all got some stupid reason why it won't work, but if the car parks were at the bus/tram/train stops people would park and ride. You drive to the car park, not to the ground. Works brilliantly here. None of our major sporting grounds (that I'm aware of) have a car park.

But you have to leave early to avoid the massive line and a 30 minute wait for the tram though.
