what on earth does pelligrini see in Garcia, should have been off after 10 mins, useless, utterly useless.

To be fair, it looked like he took a knock at the end of the first 45

Enjoyed that. Showed at the end that we will always need certain players out there to do the business.

Pellers made too many changes at Sunderland, just like tonight, but made amends when needed.

He's learning.

For all of his faults Tevez never once sulked on the pitch like Dzeko has done now 4 or 5 times. Fucking disgraceful.

the Balotelli-like celebration from Dzeko today was interesting

also, why was Kolarov captaining the squad with Richards in the 11?

He knew he'd had a poor game.
He's a confidence player if I've ever seen one.
Still think though he's our best striker in the air and gives us something slightly different.

He definitely gives us something different to Aguero and Negredo. But I'd rather we stick with what they bring.

For Plzen tonight, there was a big lad, kept getting a foot in & putting a stop to City's attacks by breaking up the passing moves, got his head to several dangerous balls & nodded it to their fullback or centre back, made a bunch of last minute interceptions in dangerous positions & knocked the ball into touch when it looked odds on we would score & just generally did a fantastic job defending everything for them.

Without him being there, we would have scored ten.

A dead rubber game that was hard to get up for, and which we played in 2nd gear. Job done in the end.

Nasri was again positive, whilst Navas continued his recent improvement and Negredo again made a decisive contribution.

The main gripe is Dzeko; its like night and day watching us play with him up top as opposed to Negredo. It would help Edin's cause if he didnt mope around like his dogs just died all the time. His effort level, control, decision making, mobility & link play was substandard on every level and if he thinks he should be playing every week he's kidding himself.

One final point is the likely trouble we may have with Uefa over Ya Ya's too obvious tactical yellow card. From memory Real Madrid players tried this a few years back and ended up getting an additional game tacked on. As Ya Ya made it way too obvious we are probably looking at a similar problem.

I honestly don't see how you can prove the Yaya tackle was on purpose... it was obvious and we all knew it but still...you just can't prove it can you?

Haha you pisstaker.

Tbf, it was tangible to the extent of being awkward seeing the difference between what Dzeko and Negredo bring to the team. Dzeko did seem to lift it half a gear when Negredo came on though, and the defenders converged on him at the near,to leave Negredo free at the back stick from what I recall. Sulky doesn't even come close though, exemplified by when he got his goal.

Joe's kicking wasn't much to write home about again tonight - loud ironic cheers when he found one of our men with a clearance on about 80 minutes! Not sure that improves confidence too much. To be fair he had a good game bar distribution. Many of ours looked poor at times but it's all to easy too underestimate the effect of not playing regularly as an individual, never mind trying to gel with other players in the team who're in the same predicament.

Tactical yellow which means that he will miss the group decider away to the holders which is clearly the toughest of the group fixtures considering they've already won at the Etihad. I'm playing devils advocate but it doesn't sound as fishy when put like that.

But to think it goes as deep as martin fucking Tyler trying to influence the powers that be is laughable. Grow the fuck up.

Hang on. I was quoting what he said when Yaya came on, not that he was trying to influence UEFA. But why mention it?

Cue 30 mins later, Yaya makes a tackle, gets a yellow and he says that it was an 'unnecessary challenge', or something similar.

That's definetly snide.

I agree. His comments were a piss take.

This was Not aimed at you, danmatoo or whoever said he was trying to make a case for UEFA.

No mate, I just couldn't be arsed going through it with you while I spoon fed you what you were missing. Carry on jumping to conclusions.

But won't pick up a booking in that match and miss the Rnd16 match(after which I believe the cards get reset).

Pellers is already planning ahead, good man.

Dzeko, kolorov, Garcia and Richards for me need to be moved on,
Richards tonight just didn't seem to defend or attack and was like that in his previous game, I think the club has moved on and passed him by, as for the other players esp. Dzeko they are not right for our style of play
