In regards that goal at Sunderland, are you honestly trying to tell me that Micah is that stupid that he just happened to be wandering around the halfway line for no good reason when Brown played the ball to Bardsley? I know Micah is not the brightest but come on mate that's just ludicrous.

Was he the one who looked after Micah when he was young? Seemed odd that even a kid from Manchester was moved into a club house.

He's from Leeds

Of course I was being a bit tongue in cheek!
But what I would say - just my opinion - is that Micah has simply no football intelligence and seemingly is incapable of playing in a 'formation' and doing his role
What most annoys me - as for years - is that he has become a world class jogger. He gets hopelessly out of position up the field - OK that can happen - but makes only lazy effort at getting back - in fact forget that - he hardly ever does get back.
He needs to understand that there is a clue in the name of his position - RIGHT BACK - that means he should be vaguely in that area for some of the game - certainly more than just the start of the 1st and 2nd halves - and when we are kicking off again because we have conceded from our right side.

I always thought oldham or is that who we bought him from?

And to think you could quite easily have just typed "yep" and been done with it

He's a centre half who has been put out at fullback. If Kompany or any of our other cbs were asked to sprint 80 yards forward then leg it back time & again, they wouldn't be able to; they would be much worse than Micah at it (Kolarov is, & he's a fullback). I recon you'd get about one per game out of Vinny in that job.
If we want a great big unit like Richards marauding forward up the pitch, then we have to have cover for him, as we did at Sunderland, because he won't always make it back & if he does, he'll be too knackered to keep go forward again. He isn't built for that & we have to cover it.
No point blaming him when the cover is shit, as it was at Sunderland. They are detailed to look after that area when Micah goes up. There were two of them on one player. Micah would have made three, which would have left his man (AJ) unmarked.
It was Bardsley, a fullback, Milner's man, not Messi. They fucked up a routine defending job.

Foreverinbluedreams wrote:Micah has played just 14 games since August of last year, kind of difficult to develop with such little time on the pitch.
Before this horrendous time with injury he was our first choice right back on merit. In the title winning season he started 23/38 league games, the games he missed were more often than not due to minor injuries ( which I'm sure you'll remember lead Mancini to refer to him as "crystalli" ). He was an integral part of our title winning side having developed into one of the best attacking full backs in the country.
I'll grant you at the moment he doesn't look anywhere near his best but to say he hasn't developed in recent years is well wide of the mark imo.
