If Bridgey is being naughty over here it's the 1st I've heard. No grudge, it was healthy debate and if you saw anything else in our posts id suggest changing your tampon.

Given you've just played 4 games in 10 days over Xmas, the last thing you want is Man Utd at home in a draw so please get real on that one.

What anybody wants is a home draw against a lower league team who have an injury crisis. The easiest tie possible at this stage and time of the year when the playing squad is just about on its knees..

Pretty simple.

We're unstoppable at home, rather play them there early and send them packing. Then play a lesser team at wembley!

I remember thinking the same 2 seasons ago, we beat them 6-1 previous and look what happened.. I know about the red card but they still beat us.
I'd rather play a crappy side and the Rags at Wembley rather than the other way round tbh. The Semi final a few years back was honestly the best derby I've been to. Was such a brilliant atmosphere.

I'd much rather play a small team at home and progress easily in the early rounds.
Also we're not 'unstoppable'. Bayern did a pretty good of stopping us.
We're very good at home yes, but let's not get complacent.

I find myself agreeing with you in this topic. Hmmmm....

The shite will have played the same amount of games, although we will have just played The Swans away.

Manchester's own: Fulham (A), Bin Dippers(H), Palace(H), Swans(A).

Wankstains: Spam(H). Dull City(A), Naarwich(A), Tottington(H)

TBH looks like much of a muchness for both sides with the munes having a tougher game on NYD it could be argued but The Swans wont be a pushover either.

Hopefully we get whatever is the easiest possible draw for us to progress. It makes no sense to me that people want us to get Utd in the early rounds, just let them get beaten by somebody else instead. Why do we have to do it?

That and when the fixtures pile up around that time we won't want to be in a position where we have to field a strong side in the FA cup to progress. Let us play a second string which won't lose and concentrate on the league properly. If we draw Utd then more than likely both sides would play a strong side which could cost us points elsewhere.

If you're going to take this place that seriously, maybe it's not my tampon you should be concerned with.

I think you missed the point. The reason why at this stage you'd want to avoid a big team (esp. rags imo) and why you'd want to get as easy draw as possible this stage is that getting a lower league side will give some players much needed rest. This is exactly the time of year when fatigue is kicking in and injuries are often mounting so Tamworth at home would be very welcome thank you very much

I'm with PBL.

We're virtually unbeatable at home. Bring on the Rags before they hit any form worth mentioning and humiliate them. Move on in life.

No we need a league 1 or 2 club at home and then give some of the 2nd string a chance to play.

Exactly mate.
There's a hell of a lot of games in late December and early January and it really could make or break our season. I'd much rather get an easy tie, rest some key players, maybe even get a youngster or two on and let the rags get drawn away to Chelsea or Arsenal.

If we do draw Rags so be it, and I'll look forward to it but i'll take the easy passage into the next round please.

Congrats mate. Hope everything works out well when it's time to deliver. Remember, Kun works for both girls and boys.

Beat Leicester and we have a two legged semi just before and after FA cup third round. Why on earth would we want a tough game. This, although it won't make or break season will be a damned important 3 games. Win them and we are at Wembley again and on way in another cup.

Macc at home for me. Though any division 3/4 (old money) team will do home or away. Home being preferable

Meeting Rags at home isn't a tough game though :).

Oh come on. Really. I know they are poor but they would still be a tough game. Let Oldham or Uwe's boys at Brentford knock them out. No one remembers the run to the final, only the semi and final itself. If we can give ourselves an easier ride lets take it. The 3-2 couple of years ago case in point

I admit I wrote that a bit in jest but still, I just don't see the big problem. Meeting Brentford would be easier yes, but humiliation of United would be great. And fun.

And the three two... come of it yourself mate. I don't know which one you meant but in the first one, Kompany got sent of in one of the worst decisions I've seen made by a referee and United were still lucky that we didn't equalize with one less man on the pitch. If you mean the second I'd say they were lucky we were in disorder with what seems to have been a growing unrest around Mancini and his relationship to the rest of the board. When we got our shit together it took a shit tackle by Tevez and a weird decision by Nasri to give them the win. Plus they've deteriorated quite a bit since last season. And so on.

Mind you, I'm not saying they're the easiest prospect. I'm just saying they are, at this point in time and if nothing changes, not that hard to beat at our ground. We are out of this world on our home pitch. I think this is what PBL is referring to as well. You wanna talk semantics, you wanna talk the exact odds and such and such, fine. We're great at home at this point in timeand forgive me for being a bit optimistic about our chances of humiliating them a second time around at home this season. I'm just a fan.

I agree in that it would be lovely to humiliate them again but it still has the potential to be a very tricky game. We are fantastic at home but we're not unbeatable, no team is unbeatable at any ground. Especially after seeing Bayern thrash us. As I said earlier, if any of Chelsea, Rags, Arsenal, Liverpool, even Everton or Spurs(if they get their shit together) could beat us in a one off game if we play badly, they turn up or a few iffy calls go their way.
We'd be favorites against anyone at home and I'd be confident of beating any of them, but let's not get complacent.
But the main point here is that the game, will be potentially sandwiched in between two league cup games, and right in the midst of a heavily fixture congested period. Last thing we want is risking unnecessary injuries at this time of year.

Would be much better to get a nice easy tie and rest a few.
