Macc at home for me. Though any division 3/4 (old money) team will do home or away. Home being preferable

Oh come on. Really. I know they are poor but they would still be a tough game. Let Oldham or Uwe's boys at Brentford knock them out. No one remembers the run to the final, only the semi and final itself. If we can give ourselves an easier ride lets take it. The 3-2 couple of years ago case in point

I admit I wrote that a bit in jest but still, I just don't see the big problem. Meeting Brentford would be easier yes, but humiliation of United would be great. And fun.

And the three two... come of it yourself mate. I don't know which one you meant but in the first one, Kompany got sent of in one of the worst decisions I've seen made by a referee and United were still lucky that we didn't equalize with one less man on the pitch. If you mean the second I'd say they were lucky we were in disorder with what seems to have been a growing unrest around Mancini and his relationship to the rest of the board. When we got our shit together it took a shit tackle by Tevez and a weird decision by Nasri to give them the win. Plus they've deteriorated quite a bit since last season. And so on.

Mind you, I'm not saying they're the easiest prospect. I'm just saying they are, at this point in time and if nothing changes, not that hard to beat at our ground. We are out of this world on our home pitch. I think this is what PBL is referring to as well. You wanna talk semantics, you wanna talk the exact odds and such and such, fine. We're great at home at this point in timeand forgive me for being a bit optimistic about our chances of humiliating them a second time around at home this season. I'm just a fan.

I agree in that it would be lovely to humiliate them again but it still has the potential to be a very tricky game. We are fantastic at home but we're not unbeatable, no team is unbeatable at any ground. Especially after seeing Bayern thrash us. As I said earlier, if any of Chelsea, Rags, Arsenal, Liverpool, even Everton or Spurs(if they get their shit together) could beat us in a one off game if we play badly, they turn up or a few iffy calls go their way.
We'd be favorites against anyone at home and I'd be confident of beating any of them, but let's not get complacent.
But the main point here is that the game, will be potentially sandwiched in between two league cup games, and right in the midst of a heavily fixture congested period. Last thing we want is risking unnecessary injuries at this time of year.

Would be much better to get a nice easy tie and rest a few.

Not complacent at all mate. We're astounding. If United were as good as Bayern, Dortmund, Arsenal, Madrid or Barcelona I'd sweat meeting them yes but they're not even close.

Injuries will be tough for us whenever they hit us. I'd rather have an injury in early januari that's healed before the the final rounds of CL starts than have one later when it will effect our chances in both the league and the CL.

I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Thought a bit of your tongue might have been in cheek. Dont get me wrong. On paper we will thump the rags every time. However the 3-2 with the Kompany sending off illustrates the point that anything can happen. Refs can have mares and usually decisions favour rags. The league 3-2 again shows what can happen. A crappy free kick to give away and a half-arsed effort to defend it and wham. Game over. Shouldn't have lost either game but fact remains we did and could do again. I know rags are poorer this year than last but Shrek always seems to try really hard against us and much as i dislike him, he is a striker on form.
I also agree whole heartedly that if we had to play rags i'd sooner play them in round 3 rather than later. There aren't many better things than a derby win and i do agree our home form is probably the best its ever been and we should batter them again. My point is we also should have done that for both 3-2s and i would like to avoid those jammy fuckers if possible as you never know with them.

Well I read that the wrong way then. Kun still works for both though.

Number 43 at home. A change for revenge, but also a chance to give Uwe a hero's welcome. Hopefully the ticket prices will be low, but if not then an away draw will be just fine thanks.

It would be great for most City fans to have a home tie in the third round after so much awkward traveling in December and I am assuming coming traveling in January. I say travel in January because I expect City to dispose of Leicester in the League Cup and to be active in the Semi finals. Where once again, a short distance to travel would be great. So a home time is preferred, for the fans pockets and especially since I have a good chance to get to it too !

That is a great draw. Don't know what games Arsenal will have either side of that but they won't be able to avoid fielding a strong team for that game.

Blackburn is okay for us, and Swansea is quite tough for United too. So a pretty good draw overall I think.

Yup happy with Blackburn, tough game for the scum which is nice to tax them further in a busy period and a derby to keep the Arse and Spuds busy
