He nearly fucked it up with those changes, and keeping that useless donkey on the pitch, very poor decision making.

If they would have got 3 it would have been his fault for sure.

but then again Aguero, Negredo and Nasri will all be a bit fresher for the trip to Southampton.

but yes we were really sloppy at the end and turned off completely

The concentration last 10 minutes was appalling. Don't know what those substitutions were all about. The right players went off but the wrong players came on except Milner. We better play better against Southampton than we did 2nd half or we will not get the desired result.

I think we'll take Southampton a lot more seriously than we did WBA today.

I didn't see most of the game due to a shit river but in the main we played quite well. The problem for me is that we think we've won a game before it's actually finished. We do the business then swith off, or you can put it down to the subs. Either way, most of our losses have come from winning situations and even though it looked comfortable tonight it looks like the players put their slippers on and were waiting for MotD.

Overall though, no real complaints. I'd have prefered Lescott to Big D at LB because I just think he is a better player but what can I complain at?

A win's a win and that's what we needed. Chelsea was a game of hearts in mouths, ours was just waiting for the whistle.

PS. Was Panti's own goal reaaly that bad?

At around 84 minutes we played keep ball for a couple of minutes then soon as they got the ball we seemed to go into panic mode for some reason. Isn't the first time we've done this. Its like we just switch off as if the games done and sealed. Shouldn't be happening and something the Count needs to sort.

Still am much happier with a goal difference of 26 as oppose to the scums meagre. ........ 4!!!!

Don't blame Pellers, it's the holistic view. By playing him we're hoping that no other club is watching and just see him as one of the other star players.

Then we offload him as soon as we can.

Sorted.

Wasn't a great clearance by Kolarov but it was mainly unlucky tbh.

I would much prefer a defender to be able to defend, anything else is a bonus. Demichelis should never, ever have been turned like that for the goal, and that would have been bread and butter defending for most mid table centre halves.

Plus, Lescott played some great football when he has played recently......it's a total and utter myth about his quality on the ball, from back in the hughes days he used to attempt 40 yard punts and cross field balls rather than play it out of defence.

the earlier was fishing from me all the way. the only thing I'd give to him is that he's familiar with the style of play Pellegrini wants to play but even so I can't understand why he wasn't picked. and as for the passing, today, again, misplaced passes from Demi while I watched Lescott like a hawk on Sunday and he was brilliant on the ball that day.
if I could ask one question from Pellegrini that would deffo be "why don't you rate Lescott?"

The two late goals took the shine off an otherwise decent set of results tonight. Still, 3 points is the main thing every game for next few weeks. Some more interesting games between top teams this weekend, could see a group start to break away, but on recent trends just as likely to close up again. We play Southampton and Arse play Everton and rags vs Geordies. So six of top nine play each other.

You have to admit though that Barry is doing a great Lukaku-style job of taking points off our rivals.

I'd rather him help us drop less points away instead of slo-mo Garcia.
