Saw him cover back on numerous occasions, put a great pass through for our first goal & was responsible for the best defensive header of the night. Great bit of crucial defending. Linked up ok with Serge when Serge saw fit to pass to him. No complaints at all from me. Should have scored but so should others.

We saw the two sides of Dzeko that make it so frustrating, last night. First half he was brilliant, great control and vision. Second half he ran himself into trouble, mislaid passes regularly and couldn't hold onto the ball at a time when we needed to gain back some control. Its an oddity for sure.

Feeds nicely into the video technology thread really, people have probably seem similar replays and some think it was a dive and others think it was a pen. Goes to show that in some cases it aint clear no matter how much you look at it. Funny owd game.

Me too, he just didnt seem bothered. His touch was awful, he dropped out of the box too much and lost the ball when simple passes were on. For a striker not to have one shot in 90 minutes in a game that we dominated is shocking!

Satisfactory result and points gained to keep pace. However the last 5 mins gave us a timely kick in the pants not to switch off in away games, yet we still do. Both goals we conceded were Mickey Mouse stuff.

Better defending, a fitter Kompany, and continued playing on the front foot is needed on Saturday, and remember we owe these bastards one after they walked all over us last season at their place.

Time for us to man up, show up, and get the points again. No margins for error, thanks to our previous misdemeanours and please can we have Negredo back in, Lescott partnering Kompany, Clichy to left back and Garcia safely on a couch back at the hotel.

Regarding Foy; I was absolutely shocked at how much he gave us. Shocked I tells ya.

If anything he favoured us.

The penalty decisions though; their manager says he was spot on with both. So I recon that pretty much ends any argument from our perspective.

I was amazed he didn't give them the pen, it's not like Foy to not give in to the home crowd's demands. Kolarov was lucky that Long decided to go down before any contact was made.

The reaction of a Baggies mate:
There is definitely a different set of rules on tackling for the top teams,Kolarov committed at least six fouls that went unpunished, the one on Amalfitanos achilles was very bad.The two penalty decisions summed it up,Long played the ball with his right foot Kolarov made contact with his left leg with the ball on Shanes right side.At the other end Yacob probably did catch him but got some of the ball as well.No complaints about the result but I am afraid the Premiership will become more like WWF now that BT have put a billion into the Champions League

Understandable reaction.

But, did he by chance share his thoughts on what Clarke had to say about the penalty incidents?

It would help if Kun throws him a bone (a pass) every now and then !!

He should've passed to him at one stage when he was better placed in the first half, to be fair to Kun though he didn't even look across, he saw the whites of the keeper's eyes and went for it, as you do when you're in the type of form he's in.

Dzeko got stroppy from that point on having started the game brilliantly, such a shame he let that effect his game so much.

@Ajardine, he did have a couple of shots that I can remember, he swung a leg at one and should've scored with a header from a corner at one stage too.

He can't play with his back to goal though so doesn't suit the number 9 role in English football imo.

Can't stand when Dzeko doesn't get a pass and just holds his arms out staring at his teammate. Kun must be thinking "Fuck off, I'm the best striker this club has seen in decades. Get on my level, then come at me." It wasn't even that clear cut of a pass.

Personally, I hate playing with people who act like that for not being passed to but play like garbage. You can't get all pissy when you waste a good deal of chances and give up possession so often.

My bad, he had one chance, headed over the bar. My point is that he didnt bother to get into goalscoring positions, when he had the ball he fannied around with it and lost it. He just seemed so disinterested.

No.Like me he hadn't heard them at the time so he will probably just say Clarke's like that not wanting to make excuses and have a go at refs.
