Douglas Higginbottom wrote:can't really argue with the score so far as Soton have played well.Great goal it was too despite some average defending. But we should have scored a 2nd from Kun plus that Nasri chance at the end where he should have at least worked the keeper.

What we are seeing is what happens when a good passing team who press high and get plenty of players in midfield and we have 2 playing up front.Does Pellegrini change it or carry on with the gamble/belief we will score more than them.

If we'd taken our relatively easy chances, the game would have been over after 20 mins.

Tactics go out of the window if top players finish like that & defend like we did for their goal & the other chance they created.

Yep, Shaw ripping them apart. Poor.

Aguero/Negredo/Nasri all wasteful. Demichelis doesn't convince. Overrun in midfield.

A lot of negatives. On balance, they more than deserve to be level.

Martin D scared the life out of me, the thought of lallana running at him again in the second half makes me very nervous that we won't get the result we desperately need

We're not playing great and it's quite noticeable that Yaya and Fern aren't pushing the game forward. Nearly every chance we have made has come from a quick break and there's been only a couple of decent build-up plays.

Saints have played very well and they are making us looking very much second best and although the goal was a good finish, the defending was awful.

Second half we need to step it up and get a bit of control, start linking well and get players backing up are forward players when do go on the break.

In short, get into their faces and start playing football.

Can't complain about the score its a fair reflection of the game so far.Anyone know a good defensive coach? Shocking at the back again today it's a joke at this stage.Fernandinho working like a dog off the ball today he's settled in very well but no matter how much work he puts in it can't compensate for the school boy defending.

He's looking worse than when Lescott was on the right. What happened to him wanting to play a left footer on the left and a right footer on the right?

Very awkward.

It was an excuse created by Mancini/Pellegrini lickers to explain the sheer stupidity of both managers continually dropping Lescott for vastly inferior players.

Cracking game. There will be more goals that's for sure. I just hope we can get one more than them. Kun needs to be more effective slowing down play in the midfield in transition. Yaya and Ferny are being outnumbered, he needs to help.
